1. Introduction: Hey guys, this is more hundreds. In this course we are going to learn about how therapists and discourses designed both absolute beginners and no prior knowledge is acquired regarding our parapets. And I made this course into three sections. The first tone is about poverty with the interests of that parapet, and understanding the basic econ. And then let's do a simple text animation like this. And then the second one is about particles, most texts like this. And then the third on is about legs, stroke effects like this. After this course, you feel comfortable if they have side effects and you're able to do simple projects. So don't wait, just endo discourse now. Thank you. 2. Overview The Interface: Now let's see the interface of aftereffects. Nava, I'm currently using hotter epics, easy glucose, and 80 per Windows operating system. If you're using an earlier version or if you're using Mac operating system, somethings may be a little bit different, but the basic principle should be the same in all the versions of after effects. So now let's take a look at the interface. No, all of this may look a little bit complex right now. But don't worry, I'm going to explain everything straight forward. At this point. It will help to break the interface down into five sections. The first one is the competition panel here in the center, and the second one is the Timeline panel at the bottom. And the third one is project panel over here on the left side of the screen. And the fourth one is tools panel on the top of the screen. And the last one is a list of what panels here on the right side. So the first thing I'm going to explain about the timeline panel, because this one is the longest two parallel. It is the panel there. They manage our projects elements over time. So the first thing to point out top of the panel in the timeline. And this one is represents the length of the time of the composition. Below this, we can see the layers that make up the particular composition. Each one is representing a particular element. The elements may be a video or audio footage, or maybe MHz or text, or a background. Here you can see the top layer is text and the middle one is Logo, and the last one is background. In the Timeline panel, layers are displayed as balls from left to the right side that indicate the presence along the timeline in a particular order and in a particular hierarchical. Now this one is called CTI, currentTime indicator, also known as Time Indicator, or we can call it as playhead. We usually set a key frame using this time indicator and also it shows the exact time on decomposition. And I will explain you later what is keyframe. Now let see the competition panel. No, what is competition? A composition is nothing but it is a container where you can layer multiple files together to create your file known as composition. H competition has its own timeline. Typically, a competition includes multiple layers that represents components, such as video and audio footage, animated text, and vector graphics, still images and lights, and whatever it might be. Simply, you can say that competition is similar to a movie clip. After you finished your composition, you can simply render it and create your final output movie, which is encoded and export it to any number of formats. Now this is the basic idea of what is composition. Now let's see the interface of it. Here, this one is the big panel in the center of the interface, and this gives us a visual preview of the project we are working on. Now you can see that if I move a cursor over an object, we will say a box around it. Now, if you click on the element in the composition, you will see the bounding box appear around it, it allowing us to transform the object or move the elements around. Now we can notice that when I click the various elements in the preview, you will see the layer appear highlighted in the Timeline panel and its position in the layer hierarchy. Now let's see the bottom of the composition panel. Here we can see a number of buttons and switches regarding the preview panel about. Now, we will be going over this in a bit more detail as we use them later on this course. But the important key tools we should know about initially or the magnification, review time, and the resolution display. Now the big navigation ratio allows us to zoom in and zoom out of the visual composition to a variety of percentages within the composition panel to get closer to some of the elements and to fine tune our animations. If I click a 100% age, the canvas area with zoom-in, a 100 percentage. If I click the fit option, this will fit the completion screen nicely to the panel. And here we have the preview time. This is an indication where the time indicator is located on the timeline. And then here we have the resolution factor. Right now this is set to full. So if I click this and hit quarter, you will see the competition in the previous panel become pixelated because this is squatter the resolution than full. Here, I'll zoom it now, then only you are able to understand. See here, this takes to became very less quality of pixels. If I select full, the pixel restores its quality. Here we can also tools where we can see it becomes less pixelated. This tool is used to downscale the resolution of the visual elements in the canvas area. When creating objects, we will regularly use this one while previewing the composition. If it's slow downs due to less hardware configuration, then we said to have our quarter, then it will set the resolution Law and it previews faster. I will show you the demo when we creating and working on new projects. And the other things is often you may find yourself accidentally double-clicking on a layer and your timeline and a new tab will appear on the composition panel. And you might be thinking, well, my project is gone. Here. You no need to worry. Just close this tab and you will see your project. And also if you want to inspect your laid element, just double-click on it and the new tab will be open on the top. And here you can make the adjustment of this layer. And next we're going to say about Project Panel. This one is user to import the video or audio footage, images. And also it contains all the compositions that you have created in your current project. And the other thing is, here, you organize these elements into folders by the categories. Just like if you want to look at all the images in this project panel. Simple. Just click here and rename it as images, and then drag the image and move it to Holder. Likewise, we can create folder for composition, also per video or audio footage. And next we look into this Tools panel. As you can see, the set of tools plays two over here, H, one is performing its own actions. And to activate a tool simply we can click any of the tool which we want to. And then as you can see, a blue color will appear on the silicon icon, which means that tool is activated right now. And also you will notice that when we move the cursor, I will decomposition panel. The cursor point will be highlighting the current tool. Okay? And now here, right to the composition panel, we are having the couple of panels available. Let's see these panels in more detail in the upcoming sessions. Now, if you don't want any of these panels, simply right-click on the panel and close the panel. And if you want to open the closed panel, go to Window and selected, then it will appear at the bottom. And one more thing I want to say that if you accidentally double-click any of the panel or click and drag it into anywhere, you will be confusing now has what to do now. Here, you don't want to mess up. Just go to Window, Workspace, reset default to save layout. And here it is back. I think this session is enough right now. In the upcoming sessions, we create a simple logo and text animation like this. And I will explain you some more new things. Thank you. 3. Basic Logo and Text Animation: Hey guys, welcome back to another session. In this session, let's see the basic logo on text animation. First, go to new, new project. Now let's create our competition by clicking here or else click the icon in the bottom of the project panel. Or else go to competition minnow and click new competition. Or you can simply press control plus yen on your keyboard to create new competition. Now, well then in the competition name as main. And here you can find the list of presets available to us. You can pick any of this for your project. And here you can manually adjust the width and height of the competition. And I said the favorite has 25 and the resolution will be full. And I set the duration alone pi seconds. Suppose your video footages 4K with 20 bay frame rate, can choose it here. Here, I'm not going to use any video footage now, so I set it to back. Here. You can choose the background color for Composition. I lift the color as black and click OK. Now first, let's set the background. To do that, rightly, go to New and clicked solid layer and rename it as background. And choose the color as you like here. I choose white here, and click OK. And now double-click on your project window to import the icon. Click hold and drag this icon into this layer. And I just the size of it. Press Alt and hold the left-most button to adjust the icon and click the anchor point to place it in the center. No, let's pick the title. Click here. And database has, you know, a type after the effects. And click Enter on your keyboard and Tutorial, know Select All and go to Character and increase the font size. Now is select only tutorial and decrease the font size. And the increase the baseline ship to move the text above. And click on post character and hit the spacebar to make it center. And click on selection tool and click the anchor point to move it to center. And again, click on the text and select from this tutorial. Is it more? And click on the selection tool again, and click on the icon and make it a center. And that's it. Now we are going to change the position of this model to move from left to the center. And the same happens for the text, but it moves from right to the center. To do that, click on this icon. Maximize this. Here you can find the position. Now let's click here to set our pastor keyframe. Now, I just took position to move the logo for the starting position. Gladness one. And its starting position and mobile display head tend to keyframe and back to the center position. Now let's do the same for this text. Maximise needs transform. Here the position modal playhead to the starting point. And click here to settle keeping and drag this right side and to the Pentagon. And drag this back to the central position. Now let us see the premium. It looks good. Now again, go to this text and selling Buddhist keyframes and right-click, keep it in my system. And celiac disease, which means it adds smoothness to our sequence between keyframe points. Now let's see the preview. It looks nicer. And do the same for the icon also. Ok, it looks good. Here. Let's add some motion blur effects. This our transition looks much better. Click here to enable the motion blur and click here. Now let's see the preview. Yeah, it looks good now. Now I'm going to rotate this icon while moving from left to the right side. Click here. And here you can find the rotation and move your playhead to starting fame. And heard in the rotation, the first tone is represents rotation speed and this one is angle. Click here to set Caitlin and mood to delta given. Here, set another, give them. Now let's set the rotation speed here. I said 23, and I'll change the angle arrowed 50. Now the icon is not struggling, so I adjusted here manually. And here, after the transition, the logo is not straight. So I change the rotation speed to 0. And the angle also will be 0. Now, it's OK. Here. You can change the rotation speed. Here I set to ten and you can see the logo. It became like circle. Like see the preview. And then again, I change the speed. Now here I said to one, slow speed. Speed 23 has the search earlier. And then see the preview. Here. I would logo looks one, so I make it now a little bit bigger. Let's see the preview. Here. After the transition happens with the logo and text has to head slowly. Click here. And here you can find the capacity and set the keyframe. And now more display it a little bit perry. At this point, I will make the opacity value 0 and see the preview. Yeah, now it is okay for the logo. Unless knew the same for the text. Go to Text and move the playhead to the position. And set the keyframe and move the playhead to around 1 second and make it 0. Now see the preview. Yeah, it looks good, but it would be better if we increase the opacity down a little bit. Now, let's look perfect. And here we don't want to have high seconds in the timeline. I think two seconds is enough. So I put this carbonyl and move back to around two seconds. And rightly selecting come to all carrier. Yeah, it's done. Now. It's look perfect. Okay guys, I think this much basics is entered for right now because I don't want to waste our time only looking into basics. Anyway. I'll cover some more basics while doing in the upcoming sessions. And if you have any doubts, feel free to ask questions. And finally I have to say, sorry, pardon my bad English pronunciation because English is not my natural language. Thank you. 4. Particle Text Animation: Hey guys, in this section, we are going to make text animation using particle effect. First, let's create a new project. Go to File New and new project. Now let's create a new composition. I'll do the conclusion should name has made. And I'll set the preset to HDTV 123 frame rate. And I set the duration or isoquants and click OK. After creating the composition, Let's create a new layer. In order to create a new layer, just likely be most go to new and select Solid. Here, I lend this layer as background. And here you can pick the color, whichever you want. Here I lift the color as black. Because in this tutorial, I'm going to use a gradient background. Now show you how to make it. Just click OK. In order to set gradient background. Just click on the Effects and presets and search for your ram. Here you can find gradient Graham. Just click and drag it into the layer. And here you can find the gradient settings. Here you can find the starting color is black and the end color is white. Past, I'll change the black color into white. And the color. And slater, Great. And I'll change the ramp shape here. Linear ramp into radial dram. Now click on the top point. Just hold and drag it into center. And the same happens in the bottom. Just click and hold it. Now we have successfully created a gradient background through the effects on resets. Note let's type the text, whichever you want to animate. I'll click the type tool and select where you want to type. Here, I'll type as simple effects. And click the selection tool. Click on the anchor point to adjust. The text vetted should be placed. And over here, you can adjust upon settings. Here, I choose the pond as lobster too. You can pick the phone whichever you want it. Here. You can change the text color and your want. And using this, you can make the font size bigger and smaller. So far, we have created the background and the text which we want to animate. In order to animate a taste, we helped to create a new layer just by clicking the mouse, go to New and solid and name it as particles. And press OK. Now go to effects and presets and search as particle. The second one, cc particle will just click hold and drag it into the layer. Here you can find the particles settings. And here there is no particle displaying here. Just move this layered and little bit friend. Here you can see the particles appearing. Now it changed this particle type. Yes, go to particle. And here you can find the particle type. By default, it is set a line. And here you can find the list of types. Here, I chose that quite polygon. Here you can find the changes. Now. I will change in a particle color. Here the bird color is black and the red color is red. I'll change the color as light rate. And the depth color is a darker one. And no hit the spacebar to see the preview. Here on the top, you can see that it has to. And if you increase the birth rate, the more particles will be displayed here. If you decrease the birth rate, the particles is going to be less. Here I'll change the birth rate, has four. Here you can see the particles increases small. To see the preview just hit the space bar. Now more than two physics. Here, you can find the gravity. If you increase the gravity, the particles will be flowing downwards. If you decrease the particles, the particles will be moving upwards. Here, I'll change the gravity around 0.7. Okay. Just hit the Preview button. It looks good. When you see the preview, you can see the particles is flowing only in the center position. But here we want the particles move from left to the right side. Let us see how it is going to make. Here. Most of the city to the starting position. City means nothing but it's a current time indicator. Just go to particles effects. Cc particle world producer. Here you can find the position x. Just click here to set the keyframe. You can find here the keyframe at the starting position. Here the current position is 0, which means center. But here I want to start my animation from left side. So I move the Position to the left side. And more the CTA against away. And then more lift to right side. And select both these keyframes is likely give him a system. Is A's. Okay. Now hit the spacebar to see the preview spoke. I would smooth from left to the right side perfectly. I think three seconds is enough for this transition. So I'm going to trim out this area. Just go to the Gardiner and hold it. Drag it to the backwards. Yes. Right-click to him to work area. Just hit the space bar to see the preview. I think it's okay now. And here you can find the most of the particles shows underneath the text. And above that is a little bit of particles. To solve this, just click the anchor point and slightly move it to the top. And just the bottom. And hit the spacebar to preview it. It's fine now. Okay. No particles, most from left to the right side perfectly. But here, when the transition starts, my text has too high and the particles crosses or the heading taste. My taste has to move in the moving direction. If you are not able to understand, please follow the instructions. Okay. Now move the particles to the first character and select Simple effects. And select the Pinto. And make a selection around it. And just click any upto point. Sorry, double-click will turn like this. Just click hold and drag it to the left side to hide the text. Okay, let's create a keyframe for this. Just click simple epics mask, mask one. And here you will find mosque bulb. Just click here to city keyframe. Here you will find the key flip and just move the CTI two some more frames. And just double click it and drag it to the red side. And another keyframe has been said. Just select these key frames, right-click and keyframe I system this click, easy, ease. And now hit the space bar to see the preview. We can now it's working perfectly. Okay guys, we have successfully created this text animation. Here. I have to say one more thing. Here. You can change the text or background, or the particles, whichever you want, you can change it. Suppose if you don't like this particles, you can change it. Just go to the particles, become the effects. Here. You can go to the particles. You can see the particle type. Suppose if you don't like what polygon, just click the star, can tip the spacebar to see the preview. If you don't like the scar, just click motion polygon. Just hit a preview. Okay, it's look better now. That tip guys from this tutorial. Thank you. 5. Light Stroke Effect Text Animation: First let's create a new project, go to File New Project. And then let's get a new competition. Here. I will give the competition name as me. Here I choose the present to HLA-B18, 30 frames per second, and the duration will be five seconds. And click OK. Now let's create your new text layer. Rightly, new text. Here you can take your own text. Here I type in my name. Just make it center. Here. In this text, I'm going to give effects to each and every character before that. And how to make it separated by creating mass. Just right-click on the text layer. Cleared create Muslim text. Now looks stroke effects to this text. Just go to and search for a stroke. Click hold and drag it into this layer. Here, you can find the stroke settings here in the paint style. I'll change on transparent instead module image. Here, you're able to see only M character. Because the path is set for only m. Just take all the mass. Now you are able to see all the characters know interspace, but to see the preview, nothing happens because we haven't seen him yet. Now let's create our past. Him before that, make sure Vedas, our CDI position. Because when we say Turkey for him, it below where the city is located. Now let's move on. Starting for him. And here in this time, I click to set our first keyframe. Here, you are not able to see any keyframe in order to see that yes. Effects. And see here, you are able to see or first keyframe now increase the starting value from 0 to a 100. And then moving on playhead to adult Greece against and then decrease the value from a 100% raise to 0. Now let's hit the space bar to see the preview. I think you would have noticed that when the transition starts about a character starts building from last to the first. And now I'll make the character starts to appear in equally when the transition starts. To do that, just uncheck stored sequentially. Now let's hit the spacebar. Yes, Janet. Now let's take a look on how to make a late effect on each character. To do that. First we have to create a new solid layer. Yes, go to new solid layered memory does. And click OK. Now go to effects and search for the links. Click hold and drag it into this layer. Here, I'll change the brightness. I don't contribute person. Here you can change the type. I choose the first one. Here come to the blending mode. I do screen. If you're not able to see this MOOC, just click here. Now that we have to make this flare to follow with each character. To do that, create a null object, just go to a new object. Now let's assign the path of this first character to this null object and then be Magnus lens flare to follow along with this null object. Now, let's do that and just move your city i to the study. Please. Click on this mask, potassium on your keyboard. Here you can find, but each and every character, I selective character here, just click on Damascus and go to edit, copy and click on this object and press B on your keyboard. Let's click on this position and pasted this object, whether it is following the character path, not following. Okay, no more of this last keyframe. Second, I will let you know. Again, it is not following. Just select all this, keep limbs, like keep them assistant, click time-reverse keyframes. And now let's take it. Okay, now it's following the pet category. Now let's make this lens flare to follow this null object position. To do that. Just you kill effects. Lens flare out. And click. Here, you can see these big rib. Just click. And I think this position. And click anywhere on this timeline. Now let's check it. Again. Now it's working correctly. So far we have done for the past character. We have to do the same steps for the second character. Before that, I rename the lead split. An object. This right-clicked it. Now let's duplicate this lens flare. Just click on it. Go to Edit, Duplicate, and rename it. And creating a new null object with a name it appropriately. And click on this mass M on your keyboard. And here you can see the old character and called it also. Because just look at the old character. There is a gap between these two circles. Here. There is a triangle and that is known. And that is a gulf between these two lengths. So that both the O and the a is having two pub. Let us hedge. Yen is not having those. Now you can select any of this path. I select the first bag, go to unit, copy, and go to the o plus b conjugate and selected keyframe to the starting condition. Tested. Follow the same steps which we done before. Just to select all these keyframes. Likely reframe a system, time-reversed keyframes. And now let's check in. It's moving correctly along the pap. Now let's ascend the lens to the null object. Let's click here. Effects lens. Yes. But as unclick, peek into this position and pick anywhere independent. Checking in the preview button. Is it working correctly? Ok, I move the city i to the starting keyframe. Here you can see the place appearing before the transition occurs. I don't want to see this fled in the starting keyframe itself. I just wanted to see it happen. Some keyframes. We can now let us do it by adjusting the opacity and added minimize all of these people depends from here, the opacity just clip here to set the keyframe. And here make it 0. Here you can see the flame disappearing. And yes MOOC plus some key Flynn and set another keyframe and make it a 100. And move the CTA near to three seconds. And city keyframe 2pi seconds and make it 0. Just hinted preview. Here you can see the difference between these two character. For this M character, we have safety capacity, but for this whole character, we have not set any capacity. Now let's copy all this capacity. Keep limbs. Copy. And go to the tenths phone. Click on capacity and move the CPI starting keyframe and pasted. Hit the spacebar to see the preview. Now both looks good. Now whenever we do the desktop discrete characters. But I will fight it because we are going to do the same steps again and again for these three characters. And also try to do yourself can only are able to understand it. But if you have any doubt, don't hesitate to watch the steps again and again and then proceed. Now, so far we have assigned effects to each and every character, objects to each and every category. While looping here, the brightness is more. This is not looking good. So let's decrease the brightness to to each and every character. And then see the preview. Ok. But here the lens effects covering all the background, so it is not looking good. Let's adjust it by creating maths to each and every character. First, let's select the rectangle shape to uncover the first letter. And thus you have here, you can see the math further. Let's include the Federal value 70. And now let's do the same steps to remaining. And this one is looking good now. Now if you look into this project, you can stop the section here. But suppose if you want to color each and every character, follow these steps. Go to effects and TIBCO, click hold and drag it in. And here you can find the adjustments of code. Here on the channel. I select red and adjust this coast to get your beside column. Here I'm going to make red color. And here you can choose any color by adjusting this challenge. Okay, now I see the preview and doing the same steps. And green channel and the remaining steps are followed. Now that takes looks good with the light effects. I hope that will be the same steps to get this late effects for each category. Okay guys. Thank you. 6. Thank You: Hey guys, I hope that you have finished this basic, fundamental After Effects coast. After this course, I think you are able to do simple projects. In this course, I have covered only text-based animation. And in the future, I'll come up with a new course with different kinds of projects. Thank you.
