Project Description

Project:  Mondrian Tableau

93f0e3f9

Re-create a portion of Mondrian's Tableau No. 1 painting (below), painted from 1921 - 1925.  I will guide you step-by-step through the painting process.  By the end of the class, you will have a gallery-worthy work of modern art to showcase your talent.

Remember to post photos of your sketches and your progress so that I can provide feedback, answers to questions, and encouragement along the way.  Don't be shy!  Post pictures of your written notes, brainstorming, and color combinations -- even your music choices. Skillshare offers a supportive and fun community, and we will take advantage of this positive environment to help you maximize the value of this experience.

Notes:  I will feature student work on Instagram and on my website. If you want your class project to be featured, follow @nicolettaarnolfini on Instagram and tag #modernartmasters and @nicolettaarnolfini in your images.

This is the second class in a series about twentieth century abstract art.  (The first class covers Kandinsky.)  You may choose to follow along with the class reference material, OR you may choose your own abstract artist and reference work.  I encourage you to research many different artists and styles, and I will introduce you to contemporary artists in the accompanying class workshops.
