1. welcome to the digital painting guide.: If you want to learn how to pain arose, I suggest you start here. I want to walk you through the steps that I take when I'm handing, so hopefully you can learn something new. My name is Sarah and I've been painting for a couple of years now, and I have some tips and I think you would find really helpful. So I know there's some people out there who watch tutorials and really want to get a better idea of what it's like to see a painting from start to finish. So as a bonus, I will include a video of a riel time painting process. Now, this course I will be using procreate, an apple pencil ans and iPad, but you can get started with even just a pencil, a paper and an eraser. 2. Creating a canvas.: we're going to be working with the Hammett size of 3000 by 2400 pixels. Have a C P I of 300. We can keep the brush is pretty simple and just work with a technical brush and a round brush improve e and that's pretty much all you need, so let's get started. 3. Frame, sketch and color block.: Creating a frame around your drawing is pretty much one of the most overlooked and also one of the most important parts of really your sketch. It gives you the ability to sighs out how much room you have to work with. And then once you have your friend time, you can start going in and really refining your sketch. But we don't want it to refined, because if your sketch is too well done before you start paving, it can kind of start Teoh restrict you, and we really want to keep it loose and have the ability to change it later. If we need Teoh labor and the paving process, this scotch is going to be a different layer that the pain three layers the benefit of working digitally as you can place your sketch above your painting so you don't lose the wines of the guidelines before you're ready. Color blocking is pretty much what it sounds like. We're just going to lay it out, flat colors on top of each other and get the basic shape and colors that we're looking for to be ever flowers. We're going to start out with the local color, which is psychology that you see, most probably when you look at your reference or the flower that you're trying, you could drop of red froze or blue one. We're just gonna get a general idea of the shape of the object with color. You're also never one feeling of the background. First, what do you have? The background? It's much easier. Teoh. Paint the flower with him. A setting. You can ground your flower or well, try to avoid having a body in space like idea for most of this period. But the idea is that later on, it will become a lot easier to paint your flowers within this world of colors they treated right up front. 4. the ugly phase, finding your colors.: every part, I think to remember with your visually pay think is that you want to work with a large brush. Really a brush. It was. You want to keep it large. She get all the shapes of there. There's the little streaky lions left all over the place. If that works with a smaller and smaller brush to go into details, it's gonna get very frustrated because most of your baby processes going begins ist of what I like to call the ugly pays. What about the colors are really working together, yet you're still looking for the right Hughes right shades, and this is going to be predominantly for most of the time you spread people. Before you ever get that really fun, part of run drink, you're gonna have to push and shift your hues of colors around your values until you really figure out what's working and what's not. The petty have how experience you are. This could take a few minutes to a few hours, and of this part could be really prostrating. But what do you think it is an opportunity to really experiment with different colors? Look at the way that the light is hitting flower, really just driver. How battle with it. I tried earlier to establish cooler shadows with war were highlights. The thing about shadows or highlights. This general role is if the light heading the flower is a warm color, that the shadow intimate is going to be a cooler ad vice versa. If it's being led by a cooler highlight, then your shadows will be were work. Another tip is to never, ever use black for shadow or white. For a highly. It's tempting to think that it will give you the most contrast, but really an additional painting or a normal pay thing. It's really best to avoid start colors such a pure black or pure way. - At this point, my payday looks pretty awful. So let's move on to you of other parts of the painting process and see where we could take it from here. 5. the finished painting.: So at this point, I wanted Teoh leave you with the time lapse of how this Paley turned out and other tired lops. Another power I used to use it will save process, started with a framework, a Scotch flat color and just really rubbed your feet. And if you watch the next video, you'll get a full time Fred jury of this pay weeks even see, start to finish in real time. This paling being done, I hope that you could take some of these steps. I've used the guidelines to start craving your own paintings. 6. Real time rendering BONUS video.:
