1. Introduction: how you and when you come Thank you for checking out. Discuss in this class, we are going toe talk about the top seven confusing terms in the world off graphic design. Even if you are not a designer, I'm sure you will learn from this. This class is for designers and non designers, and after you finish discuss, you no longer make in the state. When encountered these terms again, I'm so excited about this class and can't wait to share with you this lesson. So in no now and let's get started. 2. Terms New Designers Always Get Wrong: hi and welcome toe. Seven graphic design terms that no designers get wrong in this class even done the proper meaning off this commonly used terms in graphic design. There are a bunch of them, but I picked only the common in the important ones. Even if you're not a graphic designer, I'm sure you always hear these terms. And the truth is this. Terms are very confusing. If you're a new designer, I'm sure you will benefit from this. And the next time you encountered this terms, you would know exactly what the real meaning. And then way we start with the front and my face, the store the most confusing terms in graphic design. Some people use this one, but actually they're different. A front is a specific type or variation of weights will be safe. One we refer to one point style like Regular light or Italy. So here's the example. We have thanks New Roman in three Stein's Each one of this is a front. We have regular Titanic, and when we say my place, we referred to a family off wants, like in a previous example, the name times New Roman is the type Please So these are our examples We have later and Virgin script and Merryweather, this already type, please. And if we have a and we get the title, we can see all of these from the point style and selecting a one size. These are fun. And when we said it, a name that's ate my place. Okay, family appoints and then that goes this way have a tracking and turning. So we start with the tracking. Tracking is the equal spacing across the entire word. So when we see a word, it is in some equal spacing here with the peak y B. And they have that they have a equal its PC and then you say, turning Let me see spacing between individual letters. So is the example against the years A very a wide space Here, compare with the other three letters here. And that's how way Do the tracking. And then let me show you an example. Here. So here and me, I'm gonna say I'm gonna what? Here, you select here. I'm using Adobe Fort shop. So if I slighted year, I'm adding some talking. Both are equally. It was spacing. I did. And this one is the turning on the other one. So it pretty so like this letter d I can move. He's facing these. Don't they're not dropping Theo individualists. Piece off a wound then these next we have the victor and Laster. You are probably probably familiar with this to the victor has a specific lines and curves or us an exact mathematical calculations that a computer can read. One good example of Vector image comes from Adobe Illustrator and mostly used at the state or for Love's. So is the double straight. Or if I zoom in using mania but a magnifying glass, this waken see all lines here. There's no fixes here or anything. Play pressed the outline you controlled wife. You can see all the lines. I think that mother, how we zoom in way can still see begins to see the lines you're now it's about the baby mode And then for our master see combination off pixels at me. Put it here The nation of pixels like what we have here in Adobe Airport Shop. So I have one image here. I'm gonna put it here Then if I zoom in seen and here we can see some squares. It's a big sin, and we use the port shop mostly for editing. Images are photo manipulations. It's not idea for no good sign actually like that and the approach. I don't be straight with us. A very crisp line. That's idea for logo designs. And then next we have We have a tent and don't So when me and a right toe your color so a good example of disease. Let's say be colder here, you Sorry, Piecemeal. When I decided Slight, my color picker left side. I'm adding some light. So that's I didn't OK, so like this. So this Because our advice, like the left side adding some white and then for our tone when we had a gray to a your color so it would become like Dr So get the color picker and then say I'm gonna I have this if I just like it. Don't and you can see some no change in color. I think we're adding some great corner A your color on this issue on decide. So in me slide down, adding some great Let me just like going to the left. We're adding some white, so that's our teams in this sliding down is the tone. Okay, that's our think. Don't Thanks for the house. Black and white in Greece Skating This one is actually confusing brothers. But it's actually very easy, you know, black and white. When we say black and white, it's purely black and white. No more, No grace in here. So this is a sample. No go then when we say gray scale seven of shade values from my block. So get the color picker here. The values from here on the white No one's to the black side to the part here, then gets from here to here. That's the great escape. But for a black and white just your wife in this corner into the end of this club. 00 r f f six f I think that c it's a white actually six f and then 00 for the luck. So that's our black and white and gray scale. Yes, Um, and we turned this image toe a grayscale goto image and gray scale Me. I dropped through the darkest part here. I mean it. May I drop her by? I dropped here. We can see there still disappear black shiny some part of me here. Close toe 0000 Right. That's in the range of our Grace game. Next we have Okay, my friend and prototype. So this one is optional, Most common for designers. And when we talk about the wire frame, we are talking about the initial step or sketch. It's the mission speech off a design design. Think of it as a backbone off a design or the first idea. So you're sending sent from my right. Afraid I'm gonna show you here. It's my life frame for remember, my old, uh, bless. Also available here in Scripture, the design mobile app design I showed you here. I showed you this design. They say my listen, my right of frame. So this is where I put are the initial design how the pitch pitch a mobile up we look like and then on the on the other side on their hand, we have the prototype is a representation of the real design or let's say close to a finished product. Now, let me show you a prototype of the wire frame that I showed you a while ago. The prototype of this and here in InVision up that calm. It's a free tool. Actually, you can prototype you Web design or mobile app design. So let's say you can click on it like that. Give me the the next design. All the wonder designed that you can see here social made from a dog fortune. There's no coding here, I guess on a prototype. So let's see. I'm gonna say mean And then I'm gonna go on a one off them, you know, here so this past and then and say I can do this I think that. And now let's say I want to add it to my car. Click on the card you today they fade off a cooler and then on my cart, even see one item on my cart, I can view my cart. I think that and then I can proceed to check out now. Place your order. So this is a prototype me wire frame that I showed you a while ago by my mother and design about design. This is just design. So this this is a prototype. Okay, So why afraid in a prototype size, different, uh, terms. And finally, we have a white space and negative space. Other designers think it's the same, but actually it's not when we say white space we are. We are talking about the spaces between the elements off designed. It doesn't need to be a white space. So I'm gonna show you an example. Year the spaces between the four stars. And they say that circle here is definitely whitespace. And then, on the other hand way have a negative space. Negative space is a space left out too great an illusion or meaning? Good example. Is the logo off a medics? I'm sure you are familiar with this logo and the negative space here is the is what? Between the letter e and necks waken. See an arrow here. It's like, you know, pointing forward something like that. So that's a negative species, and the negative space is actually common. Also in some no good signs. So if you go to Google and type negative space logo waken, see a lot off examples here some. Here's some here martini how there's a house here and then about 10 point USA Network. They're saying that there s here and then here is a pelican. There's a P and then they say sundown. I guess so. These are the connected space logo examples. So that was our seven terms that the new designers always get wrong. So we began a week up here. Start again with the one is the point. And I place if you want this copy, I'm gonna gonna post the copy. Off this up is defined in the you can down there in the resources section. And down this end, of course. Studies. Maybe, but this wants I guess I'm gonna put it here. Put the this point as well, and then we have front and my place. Next one is we have been tracking and learning. Talking is the equal basis like this. And then earnings name, individual spacing of donators like that. And then another one. We have a vector and raster So, Victoria, these or logos or any mascot design remaining some my exact mathematical calculations making administrator, then fold shop like, but I'm using. Right now, it's a combination of pixels use for for so many collisions. And then we have to think and don't. When we had white toe a pure color. So that's how we make 18 cooler and then for atonement and a great or had some value to a pure colder. We get a tone, then we have a black and white and gray scale. You're a black and white, and then you can and summer from here from white itself. So why drink off cooler here from white to black? And then we have the wire frame and tight structure off our backbone of design. So you see why a frame? And then he brought a tight. So if you want to try, this can take out the vision of that come. Very nice prototyping. Also, you can go my beside here. Right? So here's my designs. There are all something I think being BNG file that I uploaded here and then pointed out some of the what will happen when I click that part or something like that. Okay, so everything's it was like that. So So that's what that's what I put it here on my wife ring. You can see these May my noting beach may sign a pinch when, after clicking the login will go can go here or here. All right, on finally, we have a white space and negative space whitespace, Actually, even the space. This is a right space on this. On this top part, Whitespace doesn't need to be white color. Right? Okay. Yes, I space. There's no it's a mark place on your design. Those are the white space, And then the negative space is something like, in the design way left out. Create an illusion. Something like a FedEx longer. All right, so So that's all for this video. And I hope you learned something and let me know what you think of this classmate posting a comment in the comment section. So I have been doing something from this class and see you in the next last.
