Here's the Artist behind the Art :)
Hello! I'm Chiara Mazzetti and I live in Italy.

After completing classical studies, I graduated in 2016 at the University of Pisa in Digital Humanities and later I specialized in Graphic Design in an academy in Milan. After finishing the studies I worked as a Graphic Designer in a historic and famous art gallery and at the same time I designed websites together with my partner.

At the end of 2018 I became interested in calligraphy and lettering, whose arts taught me the patience and the importance of practicing every day. From this point on, the passion for watercolors began almost spontaneously, findin... See full profile

1. Intro: welcome. I'm John up over the color artist and teacher on scale shirt. In this class, I'm going to share with you some useful tips n tricks I use every day in my works. You can broke this now and improve all your landscapes. I tried to keep the video lessons very short, but rich of informations and examples. You're going to see both for the references and real paintings so you can learn the theory . And in the meantime, I see it in action to fix it into your memory at the hand of the class to round things up, I will get you to complete a painting where you can apply all the things you're just not in . The resource is section. You will find a useful image that you can down what in front. It's a nice graphic to summarize the lesson so you can always keep it with you and give it a look before starting a new painting. So let's get started 2. tip 1 - Find the Horizon Line: first things first. The rise online. The Horizon Line is an imaginary line that separates the sky from the ground, and you can represented with a basic horizontal line in a sketch as a user for reference. This line isn't always visible because it couldn't be hidden by several off the Hellmann's of a landscape like trees, buildings on others. So it could be convenient to refer at this line as the eye level, because the rise in line matches with hate off your eyes when you're looking straight ahead . This is also a nice way you can use toe. Always find where the rising is. Generally, if I want to emphasize this guy, identical. The reason. Line Look, Tulley. More space for the sky in the upper part off the pain. If I want to put the attention on the ground instead, I really more space below the rights online compared to the space above it 3. tip 2 - Choose a good Composition: the first few times you asked to do so we got to put the rice in line right in the center of a painting. Took thing some sort off symmetry because in a word, it seems school. But doing so most of the time, all we Actually, it's a boring see because the line to buy stay image right in the middle and Indiana It doesn't look good, trust me. So to bring more interest into a landscape and going to show you two basic tricks, the rule of thirds and the focal point divide the paper entered with two vertical lines and to or is on the lines, it doesn't have to be a perfect division. Just trying to make this space is similar. Then locate the most important element in one off the poor intersection points, which is also going to be your focal point. We will see that in a bit. It's gonna be down in order to give a sense of bones and the chief a nice composition. One of the true for example, lines is still so a great place to put your right online onto. Let me show you how I apply the rule in my painting here, I put the government on the left monitor in true focal points. I also feel that the ground toe what movement and make the same more dynamic here. I wanted the focus to be on the move. It's on the top right intersection and the what color creates a nice contrast with the ground and the clubs in the droving. Next three, I put the rising in the lower horizontal line, giving a lot of space. The bottom can. This guy And here there is another example off the same rule I applied before in which the sky actress, all the fashion, the bigger birth, our focal point and the little ones behind them drive the eyes. So the saves on the seat find an element. You want to stand out from the painting and make it pop up. There are many ways to do that. You can use surrounding Alan's to drive their attention towards eat like a road or a path. You can exploit the realtors placing the element on the intersection between true lies from the rafters, or you can use the colors to make it attractive. We use a dark, unlike or simply confessing colors 4. tip 3 - Make a Thumbnail: attorney some quick, a small Scotch were complaining. Depending you intend to make it can help you visualize the final picture. And the boy Lots of mistakes draws more figure with just a few details. This mini sketch is create to preview the painting and choose the composition values in places off the very Salins. The sides of a family, as the name suggests, is very small, and it really doesn't matter which I didn't. You choose to joy. It's Canada with colors or whatever other drawing object you have at your disposal. It only has to make sense to you. It's not a final design, so don't be afraid to make mistakes. You don't need to draw a masterpiece. 5. tip 4 - Start with Big Washes: begin with the big brush. Don't be shot on. Let the colors run through the page. I usually start with a round shape brush number 10 or 12 to make the first strokes on my sketchbook. The sites of the brush depends on the side of the painting. Leave small brushes for the days and those are gonna come at the end of the process. I like to be lose and they look to try and mix different colors directly on the paper. If you haven't already definitely tried, I'm sure the result will amaze you. 6. tip 5 - Simplify: last but not least, comes the deep OcciPet buying island step is certainly full of details on elements, but you won't need to capture them. Try to catch the atmosphere and to draw or paint on Lee. The things you think are important to convey a message. Ah, white space in a field or in the sky, Maybe more expressive than a random killing Grachev quarter, you should know where to stop and not over word for anything. This is hard and comes with experience. I think its final task for everyone. So that word much on Don't stress yourself. It's a hot topic also for the more skilled ones. 7. Sum it all up! (Painting demo): Before I start, I put down all the materials used for the painting so you can prefer them near you on your desk and think along with me if you wish. Here, you can see the complete list off the colors on the dream brushes. I have two big ones and a small one. In addition, if you have them, you can add to your supplies a pumping ban for the very dark spots on a white happen. Let's dime into the explanation off the glass project. Going over the pipe keeps you just inner once again to step up your landscapes. You can follow me in the same subject, or you can paint one of your role with or without a photo reference. It's up to you, so I will start playing out four of the tapes. I'm gonna take a piece of paper and draw the Tom name because I need to plan the painting figuring out where to locate the rising line on how to achieve a good composition. I always tried to keep this simplify word in mind as a mantra. Eliminate the unnecessary details, finalize the most difficult parts and then with them representing basic shapes. You can make as many sketches as you want trying different composition and for months before you transfer the dominant into a big piece of watercolor paper. The world third is a good general guide, but it's not the only type of composition in the world. Don't be afraid to experiment. When you drove the sketch in the final paper, be more precise and keep the pencil line very light. You want your color toe over the line later on. Now that we have our sketch ready, we need to plan how we want to proceed. Take your big brush and prepare the colors on your policy. Once you have the color thready, start with big washes. It doesn't matter if you wet the paper first or wrong again. Keep in mind this simplify word. It's always good not only to sketch Tom nails but also as a golden rule. Do not overwork a painting. I start with this guy painting a sense it with train main colors, cadmium, yellow cadmium, red light on violet with more citrate color up in the clouds. Using violet on a bit of medical. - Next stop is the sea. I prepare the area by wetting it on Ben. I may meet the sky colors. I dark in the foreground with indigo and violet and they started playing that some reports represented with lines. When the paper is starting to dry, I take the smaller brush. And with a very strong indigo, I defined the ripples. But Onley in the four World step on the mountains and pain them carefully with sepia and a smaller brush. Okay, then they find the true sales with a very light indigo. If you want your control the distant city lights with the white man I want to achieve, not contrast on the sea. So I add more dark ripples within nickel and cadmium red like 8. Final Thoughts: the finish, you can add a personal touch to debating. Sometimes I like writing around it. For example, you can write the title, your talks or even some notes about the colors and techniques used after you're done with spending whether depended with me or you decided to reliance one of your room, take a picture and upload it in the project garden below. If you share it on is the one. Remember to tug me on the photo at carom at City about art and to use the hashtag skin shirt with Sarah. I can't wait to see your creations.
