About This Class

Learn to speak Spanish you can use in everyday real-world situations - all in just 3-minute chunks! | Complete course

Hola y bienvenidos :-)
(Hello and welcome)

There is nothing more thrilling than being able to speak to the locals in their own language when you visit a foreign country. Well, now you can experience that amazing feeling too!

My name is Kieran Ball and I’ve been teaching foreign languages in my hometown for over fifteen years. I love languages, I love learning and I love teaching. I also love chocolate, but this isn’t really the place to discuss my chocoholism!

I created 3 Minute Spanish as a way to make learning Spanish easier than ever before and accessible to anybody, especially people who have tried and failed in the past. My course is perfect for the complete beginner as I break down the Spanish language into tiny chunks that I show you how to build back together again in a logical, simple to understand way. You can go from knowing no Spanish at all to putting together your own sentences in just a few minutes.

HOW DOES 3 MINUTE SPANISH WORK?

As the name suggests, each lesson in this course lasts just three minutes (more or less!). In each lesson, you learn a tiny chunk of Spanish that you can use to build sentences. As you work through the course, you learn more and more little chunks and your sentences will gradually get longer and longer.

The chunks that you learn in the first lessons are carried through to the last lessons. This means you don’t have to worry about trying to remember everything; you will get so much opportunity for practice that you will find the words and phrases just sink into your brain.

The lessons in this course are focused, practical and effective, and you will build language skills that you can use straight away in real-world situations. You will be able to speak Spanish comfortably and with confidence whenever you’re in a Spanish speaking country.

WHY 3 MINUTES?

When you begin learning something new, you tend to start off with lots of excitement and motivation. You might spend a few hours on the first day learning, but then the next day, you can only manage one hour, and then that goes down to half an hour, and then you get bored and you give up. Well, the reason behind the very short lessons is that it helps you to stay motivated and it also enhances the learning process.

By keeping your learning to short chunks, you will find three wonderful things start to happen:

1. You will maintain enthusiasm

If you want to learn anything, you have to maintain enthusiasm or else you won’t continue. If you limit your study time to just three minutes, you’ll keep Spanish fresh and exciting and you’ll be eager to learn. If you spend hours studying, very quickly you’ll get bored with Spanish and it’ll turn into a chore.

2. You will study more consistently

It’s much better to study for just three minutes once a day than to study for three hours once a week. A spare three minutes is relatively easy to find even in the most hectic of schedules. If you make sure you complete at least one three-minute study session every day, it’ll quickly become a habit that you’ll do without thinking. It’s much easier to fit in a daily three-minute habit than a weekly one-hour habit. By doing this, you’ll become a much more consistent learner, and consistency is the key to success.

3. You will remember things better

This is my favourite reason as to why you should limit your study to just three-minute chunks. If you study something for just three minutes every day, you’ll trick your brain into memorising the information more quickly than if it were to see the information for hours each day. It’ll think, “I see this information every day so it must be important, but I don’t see it for very long, so I’d better hold onto it and make it into a memory fast!” You’ll be amazed at how much more easily things tend to stay in your brain if you limit yourself to just three minutes a day.

So, that’s why I keep the lessons to just three minutes.

A METHOD THAT REALLY WORKS

I can’t quite believe it, but over 130,000 people in more than 200 countries have now used 3 Minute Languages to learn to speak a foreign language. It still amazes me when I get an email from somebody on the other side of the world telling me how much they have enjoyed learning Spanish with me. Apart from the thrill it gives me to find out people are listening to my voice in places like Mongolia, Peru and even Fiji, it also confirms to me that the 3 Minute Languages courses work.

So, if you want a course that teaches you to speak Spanish you can use in everyday situations using a simple and fun method, then start watching 3 Minute Spanish today.

Gracias :-)

Kieran

I'm a language tutor based in the UK Andi. I wrote this course to help you to learn to speak Spanish. This course is based on the method I developed for teaching languages, which I used in all my classes and courses. The method will get you speaking quickly without the strong, normally associate ID with learning a language. If you've struggled to learn a language in the past, then please give this course ago as it's perfect for you. We are all human beings, which means we all possess the attributes that make us human beings. There's a wonderful quote by a man called Terence. He said, I am human and nothing that is human is alien to me. What I take that to mean is that if one person is capable off doing something, then we're all capable of doing it because we're all humans, too. There's nothing in the world that I cannot understand if somebody before me has succeeded in understanding it. Therefore, it's only logical that since there are more than 500 million people in the world who have managed to speak Spanish. Then you couldn't speak it too anyway. Philosophizing over. Let's begin Spanish in three minutes. I hear you cry suspiciously. Yes, this course is intricately designed to get you speaking Spanish in the shortest time possible. I've created this course as a complete Spanish course for the complete beginner who only has a few minutes to spare each day. Everything you need is contained in this course, Andi. I've set out each lesson so that they can be completed in short bursts. For whenever you find yourself with a moment of freedom before you start this course, let me share with you an extremely handy learning tip that helped me to progress quickly and effectively in language learning. When most people start studying for anything, they tend to spend the first day or two studying for hours and hours and they get through lows of work. However, very quickly this begins to dwindle. You might feel like spending hours studying Spanish, which is great, but you want that feeling of motivation to continue on. It won't continue if you actually spend hours studying. Limit your study to just two trunks of just three minutes no more. If you limit your studying time to just three minutes, then three things will happen. Firstly, you're maintain enthusiasm. If you want to learn anything, you have to maintain enthusiasm or else you won't continue. If you limit your study time to just three minute chunks, you'll keep Spanish fresh and exciting. Andi. You'll be eager to learn. If you spend hours studying very quickly, you'll get bored with Spanish and it will turn into a chore. Secondly, you'll get more consistent studying. It's much better to study for just three minutes once a day, then to study for three hours once a week. A spare three minutes is relatively easy to find, even in the most hectic of schedules. If you make sure you complete at least 13 minute study session every day, it will quickly become a habit that you will do without thinking. It's much easier to fit in a daily three minute habit than a weekly one hour. Have it. By doing this, you'll become a much more consistent learner. Andi Consistency is the key to success. Fedley your achieved more effective memorization. This is my favorite reason as to why I should limit your study to just three minutes. Chung's. If you study something for just three minutes every day, you'll trick your brain into memorizing the information more quickly than if it were to see the information for hours each day. It will think I see this information every day, so it must be important, but I don't see if very long, so I better hold on to it and make it into a memory fast. You'll be amazed at how much more easily things tend to stay in your brain if you limit yourself to just three minutes a day, so three minutes is the key. Every time you complete a lesson, give yourself at least half an hour before you do another one. You should aim to do at least one lesson or 13 minute chunk every day. But any more than that is a bonus. Just listen to the course and completely exercises, that's all, and you'll be amazed at how much you learn 3. 3 Minute Spanish Lesson 1a: Here's your first word in Spanish Bueno when it means good, when here's your next word, IHS if it means it is IHS. So how would you say in Spanish? It is good s bueno Espinal. You'll start to notice that there are many similarities between Spanish and English words. For example, this word fantastical, fantastical. It means fantastic. Fantastical. So how would you say in Spanish? It is fantastic, is fantastical. It's fantastical. You might be wondering what that little line is on top of the A. In fantastical Well, it's called an accident. Andi in Spanish accents are useful because they tell you where to emphasize the word. So the accent on top of the A means you emphasize that part of the word. So you say fantastico. Fantastico. Here's another word that looks similar to English. Absolutely meant they absolutely mente. It means absolutely, absolutely men. They So how would you say in Spanish? It is absolutely fantastic. Is absolutely mental. Fantastical. It's absolutely mental. Fantastical. So so far we've had bueno, meaning good s meaning. It is fantastical. Meaning fantastic. Absolutely meant day. Meaning? Absolutely. Your next word is a little word. A key, A key it means here. You'll notice there is an accent on the eye on the end of this words that we stress or emphasized the last part of this word. A key meaning here. So how do you say in Spanish? It is good here as Bueno. A key. It's Bernacchi. Or how would you say it is fantastic? Here is fantastic. Wacky is fantastic. Wacky. How would you say in Spanish? It is absolutely fantastic. Here is absolutely mental. Fantastic. Lucky is absolutely mental. Fantastic, Rocky! 4. 3 Minute Spanish Lesson 1b: Here's a word you might recognize if you've learned any Spanish before My my, it means very my oy. So how would you say in Spanish? It is very good. Yes, my Blinn as my bwin. So we've had so far win. Meaning good? Yes, Meaning it is fantastical. Meaning fantastic. Absolutely meant they meaning absolutely a key meaning here and my meaning. Very So are you saying Spanish? It is very good here. It's more Bouchenaki as more bouchenaki Now we had the word s meaning It is well. The opposite off s is noise. No es. Meaning it isn't noise. So how would you say in Spanish? It isn't good noise. Bwin No es bueno. Or how would you say it isn't very good? No, it's more bueno noise. More bueno? Or what about It isn't fantastic. No, it's fantastical noise. Fantastical. Or how do you say in Spanish? It isn't very good here. Noise More buena Rocky noise More buen Rocky. You've learned quite a few words and phrases in Spanish. Now, Andi, you've hoped even hopefully being saying them out loud that you can muster the pronunciation now to really embed these words and phrases in your brain. Let's do some translations, our say some sentences in English, and then you can see if you can say them in Spanish. So how do you say in Spanish? It's good, Espinal. It's bueno. It's absolutely fantastic. Here is absolutely mental. Fantastic, Lucky. It's absolutely meant a fantastic wacky. It's good here it's Bouchenaki Is Brian Rocky. It is very good as more bueno. It's more bueno. It isn't good here. Noise, more Bouchenaki noise, more Bouchenaki. 5. 3 Minute Spanish Lesson 1c: it isn't good. It's fantastic noise. Bueno. It's fantastical noise. Bueno is fantastical. It's fantastic. IHS fantastical IHS Fantastical. It's fantastic. Here s fantastic. Wacky. It's fantastic. Wacky. It isn't good. It's absolutely fantastic noise. Bueno is absolutely mental. Fantastical noise. Bueno is absolute amended, fantastical. It's very good here. It's more Brenda Key. It's more Gwen Rocky. Now let's have a go at doing some reverse translations. This time, I'll say a sentence in Spanish. Andi, I want you to see if you can work out what it means in English. So what are these sentences mean in English noise? More bwin noise? More bueno. It isn't very good. It's more bueno. It's more bueno. It's very good noise. Fantastic wacky noise. Fantastic, Quirky. It isn't fantastic. Here is absolute lamented. Fantastic. Rocky. It's absolutely mended. Fantastic! Rocky. It's absolutely fantastic Here. Noise. More bueno. Hockey noise from web. When lucky. It isn't very good. Here s Bueno. It's bueno. It's good. S fantastical key s fantastic. Wacky. It's fantastic. Here. Noise born, lucky noise. Buen walkie. It isn't good here. Its brain rocky. It's born lucky. It's good here. Noise. Bueno, Ace. Absolutely many fantastical noise. Bueno is absolutely medic. Fantastical. It isn't good. It's absolutely fantastic. 6. 3 Minute Spanish Lesson 1d: So let's have a quick recap off the words we've learned in this lesson. How to say these words in Spanish. It is IHS IHS absolutely, absolutely meant absolutely meant fantastic, fantastical, fantastical good. When win here a key AKI Very my my oy, It isn't noise noise. Now there is plenty that you can do to ensure the language stays firmly in your brain. On doesn't disappear. You can play about with building sentences from the words you've learned so far. Whenever you find yourself with a spare 30 seconds, think of think of something you can say in Spanish. Saying short sentences to yourself in Spanish throughout the day keeps the language at the forefront of your mind. Also, from time to time there will be a weird or two or maybe three that just will not stay in your memory. No matter how hard you try, what you should do to overcome This is right the word down in English in big letters in the middle of a blank piece of paper. Put the piece of paper in your pocket on Take it out a few times each day whenever you take it out. Look at the English word and save a Spanish word yourself, along with a Spanish sentence that contains this word. The first few times you might struggle to think off what the Spanish word is, and you'll have to double check. However pretty quickly. You'll remember the Spanish without having to check you'll be. You'll be amazed at how well this technique works. Finally, before I end this first lesson, I'll just give you some information on what it means to learn a language. Memorizing lots of words is not what it means to learn a language. It's a start, but it isn't gonna get you very far. What you need to be able to do is put those words together to get your thoughts and ideas across to somebody. Each time you learned a new word, think to yourself. Where could I use this makeover sentence? Andi, think about where you could say it as more Bueno. You could say this to a waiter in a restaurant when he asks you how your meal is. By doing this, you're giving the words relevance in your life. You'll remember things much more easily if you concede where it's going to be useful. Also by building sentences, you're subconsciously creating a list of things to say so that you'll never be lost for words. Even when you're in Spain, you can do this before entering a restaurant, for example, Have a quick think about what you could say to the waiter when you go inside, this helps to build your confidence and stopped you from having to think on the spot. You will be more likely to speak if you have already prepared something to say. 7. 3 Minute Spanish Lesson 2a: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap off the words and phrases we learned in the last lesson.
