1. Welcome to Class by Lisa Rusczyk Ed. D. : hi students in this class. We're gonna talk about productivity tips. I, um, have them many classes. This is my 31st class as well as being a stay home, mom. And I am going to show you how I stay productive throughout all of this. So please enroll in this class If you want to stay productive and your business is your home life, your personal life, I would like to share my tips with you. And, um please, we're all now and let's get started. I'm excited. All right. See you in class by 2. Class Success Tips: Hi, students. Thank you for enrolling in this class. I want to show you a way that it will help you succeed and learn from this class. And it is to keep notes in Project section. So please go over to your project and then click there and start. Um, click on your project. And this is where you can start adding information for your project so you can put in a title. This could be the title of the class or your name. Then start putting information into the project workspace. Now, this could be anything from images. But also you can enter text too. And this will be really helpful for other students to see what they learn in this class. It will help others do and see this class. And it will give me feedback to know what Teoh bring to you next to for students. So, um, please click on the your project section and I leave me your feedback. Thank you. 3. Tip #1: The first tip I'm going to tell you is always carry a notebook with you. I carry a notebook that fits in my purse. I know you might not carry a purse, but that you could just always have with you. I have a friend that has one small enough to fit in his pocket, so just carry around a notebook. This one's from the dollar store. You might get a nice one if you want. Or, um, that's more expensive or just. Anything was. It's fine. They sometimes have those big notebooks when students go back to school, that air, like 60 cents. So, um, I think this is a great way just to jot down your notes. I jot down notes all day. I don't them down when I'm at church, tuff them down when I'm hanging out with friends. Um, I write Children's books, so I actually when my husband and daughter playing, I get a lot of good notes from that. So when they're playing, I just pull out my journal and start writing. Then I make sure I import or bring this into a Google doc. That is on that I have linked on my desktop, and the reason I do that is because sometimes it's easy. It's not easy to search this way. So I try and go every Friday in and take all this content that I wrote throughout the week , and I try and put it into that Google doc. So then I could start sorting it and try and put it where I want to be more productive. So that's my first tip is to have a journal and a pen. If you just have a journal without a pen, it's not gonna work. Sometimes in my purse. I also just right. If I find a penalty, start writing on receipts or any paper I could find. Then I put in my journal, so then I could get into the Google back later, so that's my first productivity tip. 4. Tip #2: Okay, Next is my second productivity tip Is toe have a Google doc? This is a Google doc that I have all my information of my notes that we talked about earlier. So this is the actual document that I talked about, and we'll live through this together. So on the right, you can see that in Google Ducks. You can have an outline now to create this outline. What you'll do is highlight the title of each section and go to title here. And usually it's normal text. So we're gonna go up and make it a title. Once is a title, it'll show up on this outline you could see on the left. And this is really nice, because this is where as a writer, I start putting all my information together to make, um, the things that I dio So at the top, I'm working on a thing called brownies and thank you notes. It's kind of a way. Teoh document how I'm doing things. A stay home, Mom, I'm still working on that project, but below you can see some of the poems that I've created. So here you can see how the poems I've labeled them with numbers. I then, sure, these poems on my Facebook page before I make them in the book so you can see the processes I go. But then I have this extra section. So this extra section is where I just put down all of the notes for my journal. And then I go through these every once in a while, maybe once a week to see if they can. I can make anything out out of them sometimes there from Facebook posts. Sometimes they're from things I see throughout the day, and they'll eventually become little poems. Her Children's books eventually. So this is this Google document is very helpful. Google docks are free, and if you go to doc's dot google dot com, you can start your own, and you can have multiple different documents for multiple different products you're working on or just a very You see how long of a list that I've made. These are just some phones down here that haven't made it home to the next step yet. So, um, hopefully a Googled up will help you stay productive and keep moving things along in your creative process. 5. Tip #3: The next thing I know tell you seems pretty simple, but you have to think about it sometimes is to do the harder task or the task you don't like to do first. I'm a morning person and I have the most energy in the morning. That's why I'm creating my online classes now. But you might be a night person, but is when you start your test, do the things that you think might be harder first and then get to do the more fun things later. So sometimes I just love to post on social media. It's so much fun. So I would honestly like to do that first when I first get Teoh what I'm doing, but I try and do the harder things first throughout the day. I know it's something you have to think about, and it's more difficult. But if you do the easy things first and then you start running out of energy or you can only concentrate on something for a certain amount of time, and then you get to the hard things you're not gonna want to do them. So when you write it down in your journal about your list of what you're gonna do. Maybe you can put the harder things first so you can get those things done before you move to the more fun things. And I think as an entrepreneur that you know which things you're. You think you're more fun in which things are harder. So I get to those other things first. 6. Tip #4: did it. Do you think todo todo did it do, Detective GTO. Todo todo. All right. Do you see what I'm doing? Yes, I am going on social media pages, and I could do this for a very long time. I love different social media. I love clicking on things. I love commenting on posts and things like that, but that does not get hurt. Um, me money. I mean, social media does, at some points earned the money. But if I just work on social media and they don't create new products every day are often that earned the revenue. Then I don't really have a business here, So I try and create new products every day before I go on social media, because social media could be very distracting. So if you close your social media and then you start working on projects that may be a more helpful for your for activity in the future, I'll tell you, one thing is, sometimes I would like to post on social media for business, and then I get wrapped into my personal accounts. So just be, um just be aware that you may do this to and try and stay off the social media until you have all your work done, so you can say the most productive 7. Tip #5: Okay. Hi, everyone. I want to show you how I use my task bar, and that's this far up here, Teoh, stay motivated to keep working on new projects. So I'll explain to you what I have here. When you make a bookmark in amusing the chrome browser, you can choose what the name of it is. And I try to make this a short name or no name at all with just an image so I could have as much content up on this bar is possible. And this kind of helps me stay motivated. Because if I just have some extra time, I can start clicking on these lengths and they will get me excited to start working on new projects. So I'm here. This is the camera to see my baby who's sleeping upstairs? I have my email, my calendar skill share. Um, this is my new project. I'm working on a YouTube walk and talk with Lisa. Um, I, um Salt Hello on skill show the other day, so I started creating boards to create more online classes. You can see my YouTube re to a 1,000,000. I start to try and amused shorter freezes. So read to a 1,000,000 would be that And the reason I do that so I can fit more on that, um, that are up there. 50 things to know books, online classes, information, walking beach. I'm working on Charlie. The Cavalier goes to the beach. Um, some are kid information I just showed you. That's where I put a lot of my notes to keep continuing to work on. So, as you can see and that I have folders when you get further down and this is really helpful for me to stay motivated to continue to work on these projects and eso let's just say I have some extra time and I'm on Facebook. I can click on one of those links and just start typing away. Um, I have this full right Here is all of my future only classes that I want to create a Google doc and I start creating outlines there. So then, when I'm ready, Teoh producing online class, um, they're all the conditions have to be right. My daughter has to be sleeping and my other daughter has to be occupied. So when the conditions are right and I have a schedule to create an online classes just there, So this toolbar is very helpful in me staying productive 8. Tip #6: okay. I just talked about the links in this bar up here, and one of the links is my calendar. And here you will see all, um, I use Google calendar every day as well as with my husband, you can see have multiple calendars over here that may be helpful for you. For example, when I wrote my dissertation, I had a separate calendar for that. I have a separate calendar for working out, and you can see all these colors together or separate. And this helps my husband's on here, too. And this calendar really helps us work together. So, um, all the different events and different activities are in one spot that we could look at, and this helps keep me productive To see what I have to work on our what's coming up next. You can also create your own, um, more events that okay can find it here. But let's click here. You can add also a calendar of events for example, a schedule. I don't use the scheduler, but you can create more in detail schedule of your day, too. If you're interested with Googled, acts that Google that it's a calendar dot google dot com, and it's free for anyone to use 9. Tip #7: okay. The next one is to have a clean desk or clean work area. I think I work best when of the area is clean. It might take a little bit of extra time to start with a clean area, but if you're clean and organized when you're looking for things like a pen or a notebook, you can just find it right away and you know where everything is. Um, I keep my Charlie, the Cavalier bucks in a special bag that's behind the door, and I just know where they are. So if I ever need to grab them, for example, I have one of my books here that I use in this presentation. I can just put it out real quick and put it back, and it's very simple and clean. So my tip is to say, Keep your work sage clean. Keep your workspace clean 10. Tip #8: this has pretty simple, but the next one is the Have a trash and recycle bin in your office. It is important that when you want to throw things away, to keep things clean from the future that you have a trash can in the recycle bin. Um is good for the environment to recycle things, and you can take the paper from your recycle bin and reuse it. If you need an extra piece of paper, you have extra paper already ready for you, so have a trashcan and recycle bin in your office. 11. Tip #9: I like to subscribe to a lot of email. I do a lot because sometimes I look at their email to see what I wanted to do to send others when I said in other people email. But one place you can get rid of some email in your mailboxes unenrolled me so un enrolled at Mt. So you'll go to this website and this is where you can get started. And here you can log in or sign up. So enter my email address here. It will ask you if you can be verified in these different things, then it will show you all the items that you're currently enrolled in so you can decide to unsubscribe or keep in your inbox all the different alerts and emails that you get in. As you can see, I have quite a lot of them. So hopefully go through your list and decide what is important to you and what isn't. And the less email that you get while you're working, I think will make you more productive. Um, so but you may want to keep some of them because they those emails may make you more productive. So hopefully if you go to UN enroll that m E. It will help you say more productive by having less junk email. 12. Tip #10 and Thank You: my last tip. Tip number 10 is Teoh. Create a to do list. If you have some off time and you need to start writing, you can have a journal. Like I said and in that journal create a list of things to Dio. So I have one here. It's all the things I have to dio when I go grocery shopping and after I work on these projects. So if you have this list of things to do whenever you have free time, you can start just working on them. So sometimes when you every time you might just do something like watch TV or go on the Internet or something like that. But if you have a list of things to do, you can work on that list. So you know that, um, you know what needs to be working on? I know people in peace books sometimes write that that thing where you're like I every time . I don't know if I'm forgetting what I need to do, where if I actually have free time, so when you do every time you can relax, you know what to do. And the list is waiting for you when you're done. So, um, thank you for taking this class, and I hope you enjoyed it. I hope you learned some things. And for the class project, I would like you to share your favorite productivity tip. It might be something that I shared or something that you would like to share with the class. Please include an image. I think projects with images get shared more. And I would love your project to get shared more so we could learn from each other and be more productive together. All right, Thank you for taking this class. And, um, please in the comment section, right What you like and didn't like and give it a thumbs up. All right. Have a great day by
