It’s an exciting day for the Skillshare team as we are pleased to announce the close of our Series D round, bringing $66M in funding to support our mission of inspiring discovery through creativity.

If you’re interested in the nuances of how the round happened, we invite you to read more from our CEO Matt Cooper here, or check out the coverage on TechCrunch.

This is a time of celebration for all of us in the Skillshare community, and that means you, too. We wanted to outline what this next era of Skillshare means for you, whether you’re a teacher, a member, or just a curious observer.

  • We will strive to get better at the elements you know and love about Skillshare: improving your experience on the platform, bringing in great new classes and teachers, and making your next creative discovery that much easier

  • We will seek new ways to strengthen our community: We’ve seen from you already that in addition to the classes you love, you’ve found new ways to express yourselves with our workshops, live sessions, and more. We want to deliver even more ways for you to be inspired and get creative, to add that much more value to your membership.

  • We want to foster learning wherever you are in your path, wherever you are in the world: Many of us have turned to online learning in the past months, whether that’s your neighbor or roommate, or a like-minded creative across the world. As we’ve seen international demand increase, we want to ensure we are fostering learning with our international students in mind, creating a localized experience that suits their needs.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for our creative community, and we thank you for being a part of it.
