In the past couple months, we’ve introduced several new features including the ability add and follow skill tags, upload video lessons, attach files, and dynamic project steps. We hope these additions help make the process of creating and teaching a class on Skillshare even easier.

Skill Tags

You can now add up to 5 skill tags when creating or editing your class to help increase the discoverability of your class.

When browsing classes on Skillshare, students can now drill down their search to specific skills they would like to learn and follow skills to personalize their recommendations from Skillshare.

Upload Video Lessons

Now, you can upload videos directly from your desktop to Skillshare. This way, your video lessons will be hosted and only accessible to students on Skillshare.

Interactive Project Steps

Since project steps are such an integral part to a project-based class, we decided to up the functionality of what you as a teacher can include in each step and how students interact with each project step.

First, you can now add rich text and upload photos directly from your computer to each and every project step. This gives you the flexibility to display information in each step exactly how you want.

When taking a class, students can now expand/collapse steps, check off individual steps they’ve completed, or even mark an entire unit as complete to keep track of their progress.

Attach Files to Videos, Steps, & Resources

If sometimes you find that you can’t fit all of the information into a project step or have a slide show or .psd that you want students to be able to download with your video lessons, you can now attach any files to all of your video lessons, project steps, and additional resources.
