A Passion Turned Profession

It's never too late to learn something new! That's why you're on Skillshare right? I, too, found dance late in life. After years of various extracurriculars and playing volleyball all the way through college, I began competitive ballroom dance lessons after stumbling into a dance competition in my university's auditorium in December 2008.

After ballroom came Argentine Tango. Then swing dancing. Then blues dancing. Blues was something completely new for me. After extensive training in more rigid styles like Ballroom and Tango, Blues was a breath of fresh air. The style of the dance meant I was freer to create my own dance personality, to explore, to discover. Now, I want to share this amazing dance with as many students as I can.

I also teach Brazilian Zouk dancing, which has been my focus for the past year, but Blues keeps tugging at my heart. I hope you'll join me in spreading this joyful dance to New York City!
