Ru is the owner and baker of Ru's Pie Club. Launched in 2011, the Pie Club began when Ru’s life-long love of baking pies grew larger than her stomach. Ru needed a plethora of pie lovers to eat the creations that were rapidly rolling out of the oven.

Before the Pie Club, Ru made pies in her small apartment kitchen without a countertop mixer or food processor, and so loves to teach new bakers how to make pie with minimal equipment.

In addition to baking, Ru has been deeply involved in community organizing and adult education initiatives in her hometown of San Francisco.
