Maria Baugh and Pam Nelson opened the Butter Lane Cupcakes flagship East Village location in NYC in 2008 and have since expanded to a second location in Park Slope Brooklyn. They have taught over 10,000 students in their “Cupcake Classroom” and have been featured on the Martha Stewart Show, the New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out NY, and the Food Network's "The Best Thing I Ever Ate." Their use of social media and eCommerce has also been well-documented, appearing in many publications and blogs including Mashable, Postling, and Inc.
