Intro: Why Vintage?

My Starter
The purpose of this is to show where you're coming from. If you feel "vintage-challenged" --then show us a mistake! Or if you've got one piece you love that shows where you want to go, choose that one.

Either way: Go to your closet and pull a vintage piece you already own. Shoot it and describe it, including things like: its story, where you bought it, how much, where you wore it--anything. If you don’t have any vintage, use something as old as you can find, or something vintage-style.

Sourcing

Identify your favorite store or site, and say why you chose it--what was it about this particular joint that speaks to you? If you like, upload a (screen)shot--exterior, interior, landing page or shopping page. You can use one you already know, or make a discovery. It's probably best to avoid thrift stores because it's so hard to find genuine vintage pieces these days.

Here’s the fun part: Shopping! Select and buy a piece, shoot and describe it, including details like fabric composition, age, size, style, designer. What was it about this that caught your eye?

Sorting

My Reject
Shoot a piece you left on the rack and tell us why. Alternatively, shoot something in your closet that has issues.

Styling

My Style
The big payoff. Put together an outfit (or several) incorporating your new vintage find. Go wild! Better to overdo it here than go boring.

Selling
