“Definitely recommend. So much fun and a great workout. John's choreography is complex but achievable, and if you can't get the moves exactly perfect it's totally okay - he encourages you to have fun with it and make each move your own. I only wish the class could be 30 minutes longer. It seems like as soon as we get the choreography down its time to go. :( Otherwise, big thumbs up!”

“This was my first time taking a dance class since I was 7 and did one year of ballet, and so I was a bit nervous! John is a fantastic teacher. He presented the material in a very approachable and digestible way... answered questions, broke down the moves for us when we needed clarification, and even explained the history of the different choreography elements we were doing. The class environment was very welcoming! We danced around and had a blast!”

I'd recommend the class to anyone I did wish there was a component of the class that focused on teaching students what the path to learning dance would be like. For example, what are things that they can do to self learn and improve? What are the set of potential dance moves that are good for a beginner to start with to improve their technique? And so on...”

“Fun, judgment-free class. John is a voracious learner and teacher. His instructions are funny: pretend to rub hair gel in your hands and slick it back. How can you not forget that move?! The choreography demonstrates general principles, so you can transfer them to other routines. If you want to be good or learn a complete foundation though, you'll have to take more classes. Would love it if this class was a series that progressively got more advanced.”

“In the middle of class John said his hope was to make his dance classes different than all others. But then he said he thought in the end they all end up the same. NOT TRUE! I've taken many classes since I was a kid and this one WAS different. Totally accessible. Totally fun. Such a pleasure to learn from someone who is clearly passionate about their craft and genuinely seems to want to pass that on. Oh, and the boy can MOVE!”

“John was an excellent instructor, teaching a dance routine encouragingly and positively. My only problem is that the class was extremely crowded, about 40 people in the studio. John broke us up into smaller groups towards the end, but trying to learn the routine as a beginner when you couldn't see John demonstrating moves through the people was frustrating. I'd recommend John hands down, but would maybe be aware of the class size.”

“John is a fun instructor to teach dancing. He makes sure the class time is utilized 100 percent and everyone gets maximum out of the class. He also keeps the class non boring by introducing challenging and sometimes funny moves/ The music is great, people are great and you will get the 'wow' factor before the end of his class. He's hilarious, smart, and had even the shyest people in the room rocking out by the end of class. Also if you've never seen John dance, you haven't truly lived. Seriously. He's a freaky dance machine that will inspire you to shake your booty.”
