This week, we'll work on the following:

- Think about local specialties
- Is your area well-known for something?
- Is there a dish you'd like to reinvent with local flavor?
- What kind of foods are grown in your area?
- What sort of historical or cultural connections can you make between your location and food?
You'll do the following:
- Go out and source ingredients
- Search for local farms, co-ops, CSAs, markets and food producers.
- Visit several places. Use Evernote Food to document the location and items they sell that might make for good ingredients.
- {Bonus} Find classmates in your area and go on a local-food-shopping field trip
- Decide on the kind of dish you want to make, in preparation for next week.

These videos will set you up with the basic information and instructions that you need in order to go out and find your own local food movement (the first step in sourcing local ingredients and making your own recipe!).
Deliverable: Source your ingredients
By the end of this week, you should have the following completed:
1. A list of local places where you can buy ingredients
2. A list of ingredients that you plan to cook with
Share these in the Projects tab - get creative, the more visual the better! Take a screenshot using Skitch. Snap a photo of your local farmers' market and share the link on Flickr. You get the idea!

Create (or modify) and practice making a recipe from scratch

- Writing out a recipe
- Learning about cooking times
- Practice our recipes
You'll do the following:
- Go grocery shopping! Use the list of local food providers you assembled last week and obtain your ingredients. Not every ingredient needs to be locally produced, but try to make a local ingredient the focus of the dish.
- Prepare your recipe. Record what you're doing with text, audio notes or picture notes as you go along. After you've eaten, make some notes about how the dish turned out and what you would like to do differently, if anything. Adjust your recipe as needed.
- Prepare your recipe a second time. (Optional: use Evernote Food to document every step of the preparation.)
- Post visual evidence of your creation in the Projects tab. You can take a photo, make a short video, anything you like! Just make sure to include the recipe.

These videos will set you up with the basic information and instructions that you need in order to turn your local ingredients into a fully formed recipe that you can successfully cook.

By the end of this week, you should have the following completed:
1. Write up your recipe
2. Prepare your recipe (yum!)
Record what you're doing with text, audio notes, or picture notes as you go along. if you're feeling bold, why not create a cooking show-style video? After you've eaten, make some notes about how the dish turned out and what you would like to do differently, if anything. Adjust your recipe as needed.

If you can, prepare your recipe a second time, making tweaks as needed.

Document each step with Evernote Food or any other tool you'd like. Share your recipe with others in the Projects tab!
