In 2009, Allen traded in his lucrative consulting gig for a gap-year and round-the-world backpacking trip. He has ridden a motorcycle across Cambodia, climbed glaciers in Patagonia, tracked pigmy elephants in the jungles of Borneo, started non-profits in Laos and illegally snuck behind Chinese blockades in Tibet.

Allen is currently the ceo & founder of EpicThrills.com, an adventure travel lifestyle and ecommerce venture. He and his company have been featured in various publications including WIRED, The Matador Network, Huffington Post Travel, Gadling, Wend Magazine, the San Francisico Chronicle and LA Times Travel.
