Have you always wanted to list your awesome items on eBay? eBay is a great platform to sell items you already have but no longer need. You can also use eBay's popularity and traffic to build a small business. eBay is great for fundraising for a trip (or whatever item you'd like to splurge on this year :).. declutter your space.. and/or cultivate a source of revenue.
This hands-on class will cover:
+ How to create your own eBay account
+ Link your account to a PayPal account
+List your first item! This includes coming up with a title, an item description, and uploading a picture.
+Conduct competitive analysis to determine how much to charge for your item, and whether to list it by itself or in a group.
The class will focus on the listing process. We will begin with a brief overview of how to set up an account and link it to PayPal (so you can receive the money for your sold items). I will walk through how to list an item. This includes selecting and uploading a picture, creating a title and item description, as well as pointers on pricing strategy. Then you will list your own item on your laptop, applying what you just learned. If you would like to list your first item during the class, please bring:
+ a laptop
+ an item that you would like to list (you can start with something as simple as a book you finished reading, or a pair of shoes that no longer fit, etc.. select something that is in good clean condition that you would be happy to sell). It doesn't have to be the greatest thing since sliced bread :).. just something to practice with to get you comfortable with the listing process.
+a digital photo of the item you would like to list. You may bring it on a flash drive, memory card, or already saved on your laptop. If you don't know how to upload the picture from your camera to your laptop, please bring your digital camera and the memory card with you.
+an email address. You will need to provide one to set up an eBay and PayPal account. Also, PayPal requires that eBay sellers post a debit/credit card to their account as a backup source.

I've had my own eBay account for over a year, plus helped others with listings, photography, procurement, and competitive analysis for the last 5 years. I use it to fundraise for special projects I'm working on, trips or workshops I'd like to take. Listing your items on eBay can be a great source of revenue .. especially if you focus and list with a plan in mind.
