The Anatomy of a Website: Understanding HTML and CSS basics

By ·Philosophy PhD student with a background in CS

HTML and CSS are super easy to understand. There's no reason why everyone who uses the web shouldn't be able to understand how it works. And this understanding is nearly universally applicable. No matter what the area you work in, you should be able to put this knowledge to use. If you've ever wanted to build a personal website, tinker with your company's website, or create an online presence, this class is for you. In this class, I'll discuss the basic concepts behind the web (how all the different web technologies fit together), we'll go over the fine-grain details of how to build a simple webpage, and you'll get the opportunity to put something simple together on the spot. Please brings laptop computers.
