Introduction to HTML & CSS for Designers

By ·Web Developer & Designer

Learning HTML and CSS may be the best ways for a graphic designer to increase their value. With this class, and a bit of practice, you'll be raising your rates in no time!

Students will learn professional techniques for creating website layouts with HTML and CSS. The course assumes no programming knowledge and will start with the very basics. By the end of the course, students will have built a nontrivial page layout using building block techniques that can apply to almost any design.

Students will need to bring their own laptop and have a design application, preferably Photoshop. A programming text editor will also be required.

I've taught HTML and CSS to well over 100 people

I've always had a shared interest in design and development, so I'm well suited to teach designers about programming. I also love teaching. I've spent time as a lead instructor at a summer camp for children interested in technology, worked as a private tutor, and taught several classes at California College of the Arts in San Francisco.

I've worked as a web developer or designer at organizations such as Blurb.com, Odopod.com, Echofon.com, and Afar.com.
