Intro to HTML + CSS

In this class, students will learn the foundations and basics of the cornerstones of front-end development for internet applications - HTML & CSS

This class is for beginners with no previous experience, but will also be suited for those with a basic understanding of HTML, CSS concepts.

What you'll learn:

 

Foundations of HTML

  • You'll get an overview of what HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is and why it's so important (including a brief history of HTML)
  • We'll look under the hood at the structure of an existing website
  • We'll start building the foundational code for setting up a page to handle the full codebase

Foundations of CSS

  • You'll get an overview of what CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) is and why it's so important
  • We'll build the basic structure of a sample website so you can get hands on understanding of how the code is translated to a real website experience

And....

  • We'll talk about how to get your own domain and server for hosting a website
  • Tips & Tools
  • Q&A
  • We'll talk about next steps in your learning, my other classes and other learning resources
