Mastering Adobe Lightroom (4 weeks)

4 week class. On sale!

Who should take this class?
Beginners and experienced shooters alike can all benefit from learning Lightroom.  In many cases, Lightroom can speed up your editing and image adjustment time compared to Bridge and Photoshop, and help you manage and organize your images, particularly if you’ve shot enough to span multiple hard drives.

What you will learn
Lightroom's strength is its intuitive and powerful interface, which allows you to adjust multiple images on the fly, rate them, sort them, and export them with ease and speed. But there's far more lurking under the pristine surface. You'll learn how to organize and retouch photos, make collections, tag photos, understand and apply metadata, import and export in different file formats, in addition to development adjustments, such as exposure, white balance, tone curves, and lens corrections. Special attention will be given to local adjustments, with an emphasis on improving photographs and saving you time.

What to Bring?
You'll receive a BKC field notebook and a custom 4GB USB drive preloaded with a 30-day trial version of Lightroom 4.  Students must bring their own laptops.

No experience is necessary to get started.

Charles Lavoie is BkC's top photo instructor. Having specialized in editorial, architectural, and product photography, he has also been a photography instructor, teacher and tutor to over 1000 students in the New York City area since 2006.

Charles received his BFA from Detroit’s College For Creative Studies in 2004 and has been steadily shooting ever since - landscapes, portraits, street photography, still life - a true shutterbug who is happiest whenever he has a camera in his hands. At the heart of both his teaching and shooting is the core belief that photography is truly half art and half science; technical control is nothing without artistic ability and vice-versa.
