Did you recently buy a fancy new digital SLR? Have no idea what all those dials and buttons do? Wondering why your pictures are dark, blurry, or just plain boring? Want to learn to take your camera off AUTO? This workshop is for you. We start at the very beginning and class sizes are kept small to encourage student interaction.
This class will be broken down in the following sections:
If we have time, white balance, metering and focusing modes will be addressed.
Class time will be a workshop format split between lecture, and hands-on time. There will be a 5 minute break in the middle of class for bathroom breaks, etc.
Class will be held at a photo studio. BYO camera - Regular dSLRs or Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras (i.e. Micro 4/3rds, Sony NEX series) all ok. In fact, anything that shoots in manual mode is fine.
Let me be the first to say you can learn all this on the web or through books. But really, who wants to read that much?

"I really liked the style and format of his teaching. I appreciated the big picture-to small picture education: starting with basics of light and the eye, then basics of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, then adding details and details. It helped me absorb the information much easiler. Frank had great metaphors to that helped us learn complex scenarios/functions.
