Silk Painting with Designer Rachel Rose Nov. 1 - 29 (4 Sessions)

Tues 6:30- 9:30 PM, November 1 - November 29

Silk painting produces beautiful results and allows for a lot of creative freedom – a water-color painting you can wear. In this class, experiment with techniques while also learning about surface design with silk paint and dyes. Each student will create a number of silk bandanas and gain the skills to easily complete larger pieces. Complete details on Textile Arts Center's adult and children classes are available online at our course catalog.

No experience necessary. Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All necessary materials are included for swatch making. Any additional fabrics and materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. Also, we have Open Studio time for students to put their new knowledge to practice!

Designer Rachel Rose got her degree in Fashion Design from Florida State University and studied silk painting extensively at FIT in New York City, after falling “in love with silk and color and the endless possibilities the two could do together.” Her limited edition “Midnight Coral Shirt” for Of A Kind sold out right away and she’s been getting a lot of wonderfully deserved attention so don't miss a chance to paint with her.
