Borrowed From Him: How to Pull off the Boyfriend Look

, community development manager at skillshare

The boyfriend look. You know, slouchy cuffed jeans, a loose cardigan, buttons-downs and loafers. You've seen girls rockin' it all over town, but you've often wondered...how could I possibly pull that off!? Actually you can! It's remarkably comfortable and, put together the right way, can be rather adorable and flattering.

In this class, you will learn the basics of menwswear for women, the recurring trend of adrogynous silhouettes, and how you can take pieces you may already own (or can get for very little money) to create a look that's chic, easy and perfectly on trend.

To help prepare: check out Refinery 29's Menswear For Women, which highlights a dozen or so pieces that can fit seamlessly into your current wardorbe to help you bridge the menswear gap.

Bring: a few of your favorite boyfriend looks. These can be images saved to your phone, computer or even analog style: cut out from a magazine! During class, we'll each present our photos, explain why we like them and learn how we can replciate the look in a way that works for you. For example, I love this look...and this one, too!
