Why is it important to think about how teams get work done? As a process consultant I help teams work better, faster, more collaboratively, and in a way that builds their capacity to work together moving forward. When I shave an hour off of a six-person meeting by helping them tailor their process, better ideas are generated and six person-hours can be transferred away from a frustrating meeting to substantive work for the organization. That is real bottom line impact.
Anyone who has worked in a team knows the incredible frustration poor process can create, though we are unlikely to identify process as the culprit. Feelings of frustration, team members enacting their own agendas, and discussions that contain nothing but non sequiturs are all symptoms of a group struggling with process issues. In this workshop, participants explore process pitfalls that derail groups through experiential activities and collaborative discussion. Through learning about team process and how it can help grease the wheels of teamwork, this workshop empowers participants to grapple successfully with the content of group work.
