This class ticket is good for any two days of Make It Digital - Modern Fabrication for Products and Fashion

Make It Digital is a two-week intensive workshop is designed to walk you through all of the steps involved in design and production of 3D printed wearable designs. Shoes, hats, jewelry and even clothing can be produced.

March 10th 7:00-9:00  - Introduction to Digital Fabrication with Aaron Trocola,  Survey of Digital Fashion with Heidi Lee

March 11th 6:30-9:30 -  3D Printing Materials and Processes, Applications for Digital Fabrication

March 12th 6:30-9:30 - Jewelry Modeling with Polygons and Subdivision

March 13th 6:30-9:30 - Shoe Modeling with Surfaces and Solids

March 18th 6:30-9:30 - Commercial Fashion-tech with Heidi Lee, 3D Scanning for Wearable Design

March 19th 6:30-9:30 - Product Finishing Workshop, Packaging, Branding and Marketing with Heidi Lee

This workshop is taught by Industrial Designer Aaron Trocola and Fashion Designer Heidi Lee.

Having some design or editing experience (with Adobe products, for example) is recommended to get the most from the class. We will sample a variety of software, which will be provided. You will need to bring your own laptop (Mac or PC) along with an external mouse and charger.

Aaron Trocola

Owner/Industrial Designer at 40WestID

Aaron Trocola is a teacher and industrial designer who has been creating 3D designs and working with technology start-up companies for over 15 years, and has more than 20,000 hours of 3D modeling experience in CAD, animation and visualization. He helped develop one of the first volumetric display technologies more than a decade ago, and more recently works as a product designer, teacher, and as a reverse-engineering technician replicating aerospace components.  Specializing in additive manufacturing since 2008, he has scanned or designed, then personally printed and finished, hundreds of 3D products using a variety of printing and scanning technologies. Aaron enjoys sharing his passion for 3D design with others and helping them get the satisfying feeling that comes with the ability to create whatever they imagine.

He offers product design and consulting through 40WestID and in 2011, expanded upon his work in 3D printed wearable designs customized from 3D scans with his Digital Apparel brand ThreeForm.
