What This Class Is About:
You've heard it all before: "Content is King! Blah Blah Blah..." Well, too bad it's true.
Have you started a blog but don't know what to do with it? Want to get started in that personal branding thing or get the word out about your business? Great -- let's make some content.
But... Web content is not print content, just like online video ain't TV.
This course takes a look at what lies behind much of the viral success that seems to elude most of us yet yet ends up giving a few lucky folks book deals and appearances on the Today show.
Who Is This Class For?
What We Will Talk About:
Through real examples and my real-world experience, we will discuss how to evaluate ideas, determine whether they're worth pursuing, and find ways to ensure a bare minimum of interest in what you want to write about. In the end, you'll discover ways to build new relationships online and create a buzz.
Students should come prepared with example ideas that have either failed miserably or be ready to brainstorm new ones. I want you to walk out of here thinking about content on the Web in new and more valuable ways.
And I want you to get rich (based on your own definition of what rich means)!

I'm an Internet pro, having worked in online media since 1998. I've worked editorial and management roles for Intuit, Yahoo, AOL, McKinsey, and Interactive One -- serving millions of visitors on a daily basis.
Over these years, I've put together a whole buffet of blogs, rewritten headlines that reached millions of people, and brainstormed video ideas about everything from porn conventions to sci-fi dads.
I love creating, sharing, and talking about stories and videos we find on the web every day.
