How to Land a Job at a Startup - If I Can Do It, So Can You!

I’m a 20-year-old rising college junior and I recently landed my dream summer job working with Lean Startup Machine as an Educational Product Manager.

I'm honored to be able to be a part of rebuilding the Lean Startup Machine curriculum and take it to new national levels.  Funny thing is... this job was not posted as an internship and I was competing against professionals with years of work experience.

The way I went about landing this dream job was very unconvential. By using tips from various mavens in the tech startup scene, I skipped the application process and went straight for the gold.

This class will require pre-class reflection and reading, in-class participation, and post class action. In the class we'll go over:

  • What startups NEED
  • How to craft your personal brand
  • Why resume's are BS
  • How to impress a CEO/Founder you don't even know with one simple e-mail
  • The difference between interviews & conversations

You will leave this class knowing what you have to do and how to do it! You only get one chance to live life, so don't waste another minute thinking, what if... Harness the curiousity and creativity you once had, and synergize what you love with what you do!

I'm a student studying sociology and managment. I'm a hustla studyin' the game. I'm grinding, not for the $$, but rather to be the change I want to see in the world. There was a job I wanted, and I strategically went out and got it!

I interviewed 30 applicants to 3 Day Startup and learned first-hand what to do, and what not to do in a startup focused interview. I've worked with over 30 different startups through my job at Lean Startup Machine. I know what they lack, and more importantly what they need. I even got a chance to interview the CEO/Co-Founder of Skillshare, Michael Karnjanaprakorn.

Best of all, I'm like a see through recylcing bin. I'm transparent about what I love and how I feel, and very passionate about passing on what I've learned in this game called life.
