Managing people can be incredibly rewarding--and incredibly frustrating. It's so easy to get it wrong (just watch an episode of The Office for proof.)
But there's hope!
Although we're led to believe that leaders are born--and not made--the research in the field of leadership studies shows otherwise. In this course, you'll learn the three essential skills all great leaders embrace. They are:
1) Active Listening - paying attention to and understanding members of your team
2) Setting Expectations (Delegating) - ensuring projects hit the target
3) Corrective Feedback - how to have difficult conversations when targets are not met
In this two-hour interactive workshop, you'll discuss the benefits of these three skills, understand their uses, and then practice them with real-time feedback.
Tina was frustrated by her own struggles as a manager in corporate America, although those experiences created in her a passion for the field of leadership development and employee engagement. She returned to school for her M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and graduated as an "Honors Scholar" from NYU. Tina's work in this field spans several industries, including healthcare, consulting, marketing & brand management, aviation, and non-profit. She's recently made the leap to begin working for herself as an external OD consultant. She is passionate about working within organizations to help them remove the barriers to fully satisfied employees. Ineffective leadership is just one of the barriers.
