Whether you are an undergradate looking to prepare for the intense full-time consulting application process or a professional looking to switch to those fields, a strong resume is critical to getting noticed by any firm, large or small. There are also many things that recruiters look for when selecting candidates and we'll go through the nooks and crannies in this class.
What you'll learn
In this class you'll learn how to highlight your strengths and skills, structure your experiences to get noticed by employers and format your resume professionally.
You will leave this session with an understanding of how recruiters look at resumes, and what you can do to get noticed.
This class will be done over skype or in person if you are in New York and will last about 45 minutes.
This class will cover the following areas:
Yan is a graduate of Brown University where he concentrated in Engineering and Economics and was the former President of the Brown Consulting Group. He now works at a strategy consulting firm. He has 3 years of experience as a Peer Career Advisor at Brown University's Career Development Center giving advice on resumes, cover letters and careers and has critiqued hundreds of resumes in various fields, but especially in consulting and finance.
He has worked in a wide range of industries including management consulting to start-ups in 4 different countries. Some of his work include managing cyber war-gaming in the Singapore Armed Forces, marketing for gourmet ketchup start-up Sir Kensington's in New York, creating competitor analyses for Booz & Company in Tokyo, developing new approaches to identify new emerging MNCs in China for the Singapore Economic Development Board and redesigning an EMBA website for IE Business School in Madrid, among others.
