It's cold, it's rainy and your patch of dried and frostbitten green tomatoes are mocking you from outside. Did you know that you can grow a fresh veggie garden during the winter months in Portland? Also, winter is the perfect time to prepare your garden space for a bumper crop in the spring! Let us show you how to turn a gloomy garden into a productive urban farm! Attendees will be provided with starts to take home, and a planting guide.
We have run an urban farm project in Tigard for the past two years. We've grown enough vegetables for our own homes, students, three CSA's and a weekly market booth in Tualatin. We know how to produce even when the weather doesn't play along, and how to plan for productivity.
