Whether you are building a socially-enabled corporate presence, connecting a web application with social identities, or simply want to dabble in social APIs, this class is for you!
The "big 4" social networking sites--Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and LinkedIn--all have programming interfaces that provide easy access to a huge base of users and a wealth of information. Effectively integrating these social APIs can mean more traffic, better visibility, and improved usability.
We'll begin with a brief overview of what is available, discuss security and privacy implications, then build a sample web site as a way to showcase the capabilities of the various APIs.
Participants should have basic programming skills. Experience with JavaScript and AJAX are a plus but not required.
