This workshop focuses on the relationship between fashion and technology by examining environmental sensing accessories. Katherine Moriwaki specializes in interaction design and the creative re-use of electronic objects around the globe. Aneta Genova is an accessory designer and author of "Accessory Design," the first and only comprehensive reference for aspiring and practicing accessory designers. This class will push participants to realize new possibilities in interactive media through a broad range of creative methodologies.

About Your Teacher

Katherine Moriwaki is currently an Assistant Professor of Media Design in the school of Art, Media, and Technology at Parsons the New School of Design in New York City. Her work has appeared in IEEE Spectrum Magazine, and numerous festivals and conferences including numer.02 at Centre Georges Pompidou, Siggraph, Futuresonic, Break 2.2, London Science Museum, Irish Museum of Contemporary Art, Ubicomp, eculture fair, Transmediale, CHI, ISEA, Ars Electronica, and WIRED Nextfest.

Aneta Genova is an accessory designer, book author and assistant professor of fashion/accessory design at Parsons The New School for Design. She is currently teaching Accessory Design at the school of fashion at Parsons The New School for Design and pursuing an MFA in Design and Technology.
