What You’ll Learn

Are you interested in podcasting? Live streaming? Digital journalism? Are you an indie musician trying to publish your material? A filmmaker trying to improve your dialog tracks? A vinyl collector trying to digitize your records?

Recording high-quality audio can be challenging, especially on a budget. Brooklyn Movie Labs can help.

Learn how to get professional results with affordable equipment and a little bit of know-how. In this hands-on intensive workshop, we'll teach you the basics of acoustics, mic theory and placement, and digital audio recording, processing, and mixing. We'll also give you the lowdown on preparing your recordings for the Web and digital downloading or streaming.

Students should bring a laptop or iPad if they own one, plus pen & paper for notetaking. Musicians are welcome to bring their instruments. All audio equipment will be provided.
