This course will cover the following subjects:
Choice of Entity: When, why and how to form an entity. Should you go LLC, or C-Corp, or the non profit route? Where should you register and why? The focus will be on limiting personal liability, fencing your intellectual property, and allowing you to formally issue equity.
Developing a Budget: What is a comprehensive budget? What are incidentals, how do you plan ahead, and what is "too much?"
Understanding the Partnership/Shareholder Relationship: Who owns what? What are the necessary steps to take to ensure that each ownership stake is protected.
Social Media: Developing a plan for social media, and ensuring you don't hit legal snags around the way.
Adding co-founders: Who is a co-founder and who is a consultant? Who get's equity and why? How to make sure your company owns all the IP created by service providers and investors.
Funding Strategies: When do you start looking for funding, and how do you go about doing it?
NDAs: When are they necessary? What should you include in them?
