Lost or confused with the Content Management System (CMS) options out there? Are you operating off a CMS you selected without researching or analyzing it?

This class will cover the simple process of choosing the best CMS for a web site. The process of picking a CMS is often overlooked, but it should be taken seriously and involve solid research based off one’s objectives and goals. We will evaluate the pros and cons of the major open source players (Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, CMS Made Simple, ModX, Plone, etc.) and what one should be looking for in a CMS based off what they are trying to achieve. It may seem like a daunting (and heavily technical task), but in the end it’s like picking out a car.

Students will walk away from this class knowing which current CMS they should use for their web site.
