Do you want to develop your connection to photography? Do you want to use photography to create a deeper relationship to Bay Area neighborhoods? This workshop will help you take stronger and more individual photos that reflect a ‘sense of place’ of a local neighborhood.

A ‘Sense of Place’ is based on many things. During this workshop, we will be looking closely at many aspects of place and how they are important to the photographic process. I will lead a tour [an organized drift/dérive] through each 'place' in order to heighten a relationship to it. Students will then be able to take photos on your own, to be followed by an in-depth conversation about the photographic process.

During this workshop, every student will create a series of works that will have expanded your experience with 'place'. The discussion period after will focus on each student heightening an understanding of their own photographic processes - in relation to 'place'.

NOTE: Class will go forward regardless of amount of students that sign-up. Rain does not cancel unless you get an e-mail, and then the class will be re-scheduled.
