What You’ll Learn

There are two steps to getting into Y Combinator: The application and the interview. This class will cover how to write a good YC application (and the most common mistakes people make doing it), and how to prepare for your interview (to the extent you actually can).

We'll go over examples of real and successful YC applications and see what makes them good. Additionally, we'll cover what YC looks for in founders, strategies for preparing for the interview, and tips for recording your application video.

This class will be interesting to anyone who wants to know what applying to YC is really like, but it will be most helpful to anyone who's actually applying or intends to apply, because the advice will be direct and practical.

Note: This class will be co-taught by Nicholas Bergson-Shilcock and David Albert

Hate software patents? We're donating all proceeds from this class to the EFF's campaign to bust bogus software patents.

About Your Teacher
Nicholas Bergson-Shilcock · Cofounder at Hackruiter
Nick and Dave are programmers, Y Combinator alumni, and co-founders of Hackruiter. They were accepted into the S2010 YC batch without a single connection to YC or Silicon Valley. As alumni, they've reviewed hundreds of applications, and advised dozens of founders applying to YC, frequently helping them edit their applications and prepare for interviews.
