Photoshop for Photographers: Creative Effects

This class will provide a practical guide to enhancing photos with the most popular creative effects in Photoshop today.

We will breifly go through how to make basic edits in Camera Raw, develop and save color profiles, work with layers and selections, tone and sharpen, and retouch images while retaining their natural character.

The bulk of the class however, is dedicated to creative effects. You will learn how to modify color and light to add vibrance, drama, and emphasis to your images. We will explore some blur effects, which will also include the Photoshop CS6 Blur Gallery and motion blur to increase the ever popular depth-of-field, add a softer focus, or make your still images move.

We will also go through some instagram-esque techniques, such as film grain simulations, vintage monochrome and color effects, and border and edge effects.

And we'll breifly go over how to set up Photoshop's custom brushes and plug-ins for other creative effects.

Please feel free to bring your own digital images to work on during demonstrations.

Prerequisites

This course is designed for people who are interested in applying creative effects to their photographs from the photographic perspective. You must have your own laptop with photoshop installed and have a basic understanding of the photoshop layout. It would be preferable if you have CS6, but if not you'll still be able to learn everything I'll be teaching in the class.
