Have you ever eaten an amazing paella and wondered how you could make it yourself at home? For those of you that can’t make it to Valencia this summer, join me to learn how to make your very own paella and celebrate with friends and family like a true Spaniard!

In this class we’ll make an original, Spanish Paella Mixta that will include chicken, chorizo, shrimp, mussels, green peas and of course saffron.  This is a true crowd-pleaser that will have you and your friends eating right out of the paellera just as the field workers in Spain did 800 years ago!  From start to finish, you’ll learn all the basics for making a perfectly seasoned,      al dente paella.

This class is geared towards beginners and will be hands-on, so wear something you don’t mind getting a bit messy in.  We’ll start out by discussing the five pillars of making a great paella:  (1) the rice, (2) the pan, (3) the heat, (4) the sofrito, (5) the liquid and (6) the soccarat.  And as always, we’ll toast with a little sangria and dive right in.

Each student will get to eat paella and if there are any leftovers, you will be taking it home along with the recipe so you’re ready to get started entertaining your friends.
