What You’ll Learn

Let's face it, a lot of people are too busy to hit the gym or even work out at home.

For some, disabilities or health issues prevent them from engaging in rigorous physical exercise. Some are not able to hit the sand bags as often as they would like. Countless researchers have pointed to sedentary occupations as a key factor in obesity. However, what about people in other industrialized nations like Spain and Japan? Why are their obesity levels so much lower when they also have a large focus on service sector jobs which are often sedentary?

The difference is in diet, culture and mental outlook.

I will show you products that you can buy as well as habits you can start that will help you shed anywhere from 15-30lbs progressively over the course of 3-4 months. Weight loss is not just as simple as calorie burning or consuming less. There are specific foods, supplements, teas and herbs that when consumed change the way your body metabolizes fat and carbohydrates. So it's not always about what you remove, but what you include that counts.

This is intended to be an interactive class for people who typically are not familiar with herbal remdies (or rarely use them) and have tried lots of OTC or Pharmaceutical weight loss products to no avail. The goal is for you to walk out of the market now having some options that will not only assist your weight loss goals but overall health needs. And the primary focus will be products that are convienent for even the most time crunched person (we all know at least one of them).

Here are some things you might want to buy before taking the class:

  • Bombilla (Straw)/Yerba Maté Straw - Very elusive product but can be found possibly in South American/Argentinian speciality stores - Will have to double check but you can possibly get this in Whole Foods/Vitamin Shoppe/GNC under "Guayaki" brand - For drinking loose leaf tea on the go
  • Harold Import - Porcelain/Ceramic Teapot with Infuser  - You can get this in Fairway in the City or Specialty Tea/Coffee Shops - Also in some Asian grocery stores, there are some varieties out there but this one is the cheapest and best for loose leaf tea preparation at home in my opinion
  • Teavana Tea TumblerContains a built in filter/strainer that can help you enjoy loose leaf tea on the go. Keeps Water Hot for 5-6 Hours! Just Pour Hot Water in the Tumbler and it filters through on the spot. Customer service reps in the Lexington Avenue Upper East Side location are very friendly and helpful. There are 3 sizes so you can take your pick...

Beginner Level

A) Be willing to try things that may look weird or taste a little funny (but not horrible). B) Be willing to stick to something for at least 1 month! (the absolute bare minimum to see any noticeable results...) C) So far I haven't had a problem with this, but you should probably not be well versed in teas or herbs or this will be remedial for you, I might have an advanced class coming up soon though... D) Have some excess adiopose tissue - Definitely not mandatory, but the teas/herbs won't have a huge noticeable effect if you are already well within your ideal BMI/Weight
