AN EVENING WITH A CHOCOLATIER AND A SOMMELIER
Join us for an evening of chocolate demonstrations, tastings, and wine pairings. Learn the art of complementing and contrasting flavors for a memorable combination with a chocolatier and sommelier.
We will start in the kitchen at CityGrit with a demonstration on chocolate marbling and enrobing bon bons. After the demonstration, we will move upstairs to the beautiful City Grit dining room for a curated tasting and pairing of handcrafted chocolates and wines. We'll discuss the art of pairing wines to compliment and contrast flavors, textures, and temperatures.

Chocolatier Mehdi started working with chocolate in the bustling pastry kitchen of Le Cirque 2000 at the age of 16. Mehdi apprenticed in the chocolate room under the guidance of master chocolatier Jacques Torres. Since then, Mehdi has graduated from the Culinary Institute of America, and went on to work at Jean Georges, Aureole, La Cote Basque, Payard Patisserie, and has served as the private chef to fashion and hip hop mogul Sean Combs. Mehdi and his designs have been showcased on the runway at New York City's Chocolate Fashion Show and was featured in Martha Stewart Living, Gourmet, and Vogue magazines.
