What You’ll Learn

This class is designed for recent grads who are looking for help finding their place (and a job, perhaps?) in the big city. We'll cover ways to find the best events, how to reach out to people, balancing your job search with social activities, and the art of hustle. You'll leave class feeling confident and prepared to find and meet people who will help you in the next stage of your career. Plus, you'll have fun!

During class we will:

Discuss how to stand out in the sea of recent grads
Practice your personal elevator pitch
Learn why going out is as important as emailing resumes
and more!

Laptops required. We will be exploring the interwebz together for part of the session.

Emily Miethner · Founder, President, NY Creative Interns

Emily Miethner is Co-Founder and President of NY Creative Interns. NY Creative Interns is dedicated to enabling college students and recent grads to find internships, mentors, and inspiration through networking and meetups. After graduating in May 2010 Emily interned at Gawker.TV and Flavorpill, landing her first full time gig in July at Sterling Publishing as the Social Media Marketing Coordinator. A year later she moved on to take on a new role at RecordSetter.com as the Community Manager. She has met tons of incredibly inspiring people since her transition from college to the "real world" and aims to erase negativity from the phrase "it's all about who you know." After all, it is, but that isn't a bad thing. Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them.
