You experience comedy everyday from your job woes to your family drama to your dating disasters. Why not craft those stories not just into personal blog posts but into humorous essays?

Inspired by New Yorker contributor David Sedaris and other writers, you'll learn:

• how to mine your everyday experiences for comedy ideas
• how to develop your humor beyond tweets and blog posts to essays and stories
• where to get your hilarious pieces published

In this limited-enrollment workshop, you'll participate in quick humor writing exercises, read published examples of funny writing, get tips on improving your drafts, and leave the class with tons of comedy resources.

Most importantly, you'll have the chance to ask in-depth questions of someone who has been there. Grace Bello (me, writing in the third person) turned her office anecdotes into humorous stories for Splitsider and McSweeney's.
