Impress your friends with homemade ice cream even if you don't have an ice cream maker. In this class we'll make chocolate kulfi, an Indian dessert that is similar to ice cream, but doesn't require any expensive equipment.
This class, geared toward beginners, will be very hands-on. We'll start out by discussing kulfi and how to adapt the basic recipe. Then we'll go straight into making some. We'll work in pairs, so if you like taking classes with friends, or making new friends at classes, this is the perfect opportunity!
Students won't need to bring anything to class, unless you want to add something to your chocolate ice cream. (Nuts, chocolate chips, dried fruits, you name it!)
Each student will take home a pint of ice cream to stash in the freezer. (So, please plan to go home, or somewhere that you have access to a freezer, after the class.) I'll also bring some other recipes that I've made with the same basic formula so we can have a taste test/ice cream social at the end.
Let me know if you have any flavors that you love, and I can try to create recipes for them ahead of time.
