About this Class

Need help getting your startup idea off the ground? Come join Skillshare Co-Founder, Michael Karnjanaprakorn, as he shares his tips and insights on how to take your concept from idea to launch without writing one line of back-end code. We launched the first version of Skillshare leveraging existing tools that already existed to test our idea (so you don't need a technical co-founder in the early days!)

Michael will showcase the different stages (exploring, brainstorming, feedback, and launching your MVP) with Skillshare and how they turned a $5,000 initial investment from the founders into a $3.1M investment from Union Square Ventures and Spark Capital.

Class Format: We'll be "flipping" the traditional model of a class. There will be a short 10-minute lecture. Prior to the class, I'll send you the presentation and some readings. During the class, we'll have an Interactive Workshop and Q&A session. You'll be working with small groups to walk out the class with actionable steps to make your ideas happen.

Pre-Class Homework: Prior to the class, you will be required to read "How to Launch Your Startup for Less than $5,000". I will also send the presentation prior to the class and links to several other articles. Please come prepared.

Note: I also teaching a 4-week course on Launching Your Startup Idea.

Michael’s Credentials

Student Endorsements

“I recommend this class for anyone interested in culture and people management. The content is useful even if you're not working at a startup, although that's the target audience to whom the content is likely most applicable. The class is well-organized and offers helpful, tactical suggestions -- from how to implement concepts to recommendations for additional reading. Some of the insights were built on theories I've encountered previously, but hearing them through the lens of Michael's perspective, conviction and vision was worthwhile/inspiring. ”
