Have you ever wandered into a fancy pastry shop to buy French macarons and wondered why they were so darn expensive? If you love macarons and wish you could just make them on your own, this class is for you!
To start our class, we'll talk about what goes into making a French macaron (hint: there is no coconut involved as with the similarly named but completely unrelated macaroon), discuss some techniques for making them at home, and go over the list of equipment and ingredients that you'll need to get started.

Next, everyone will try their hand at baking a batch of macarons and upload their results. I'll take a look at your photos and make suggestions if anyone runs into any issues.
Students will bake one batch of French Macarons at home, using whatever flavor variation they come up with! The final project should be a photo and description of the macarons that they baked.
Finally, we'll close out our class with a live Q&A session where you can ask me anything and everything about making macarons, and we can discuss how you can use a basic recipe and modify it to get creative with flavoring.
This class is for anyone who wants to learn how to make an impressive and delicious pastry that will wow at any occasion!
Publicist by day, foodie always. I began making macarons in 2009 after seeing them on food blogs and in fancy pastry shops in the city. Pretty much everything that could possibly go wrong with these cookies has happened to me, but my many trial-and-error experiences (and a little help from a class in Paris) have finally produced what I find to be a darn good macaron.
