Why is this class relevant? One word: IKEA

Everyone's favorite Swedish furniture manufacturer makes trendy city living affordable and accessible, but also frustrating. Most of their furniture is fairly terribly built, and often times instructions are difficult to understand for a seasoned DIYer, worse yet an average city dweller. Ever hang a "floating shelf" only to have it look like it's going to fall off the wall at any second? Maybe you've solidly secured it, but it droops like it's nose-diving towards the floor? Love that Ikea coffee table but wish it didn't wobble every time you walked past it? This class is for you.

My class will teach you how to do basic home repairs, modifications, etc. The education portion will focus on learning about basic hand tools and power tools, with a strong emphasis on safety and choosing the right equipment. The hands-on portion of the class will focus on proper usage of hand and power tools, safety (again), and troubleshooting. I encourage people who register for the class to email/message me about bringing any smaller furniture to use as a demo. Otherwise, I will hang a fake shelf in my house and probably craigslist an IKEA coffee table to demo on.

I'm more than happy to teach this class at my own house, but if you want to host the class that is also great. All hosts of the class will get a free project finished, courtesy of me.
