What You’ll Learn

There are not many foods as easy or satisfying to make and eat as fresh pasta. Nonna Carolina (of Spicy 'n Sweet) will teach you how to make a few kinds of fresh pasta, from forming farfalle and ravioli to tagliatelle and pappardelle.

You will learn how to make the dough from scratch (Nonna's way)! You'll also learn how to work comfortably with an authentic Italian pasta machine.

At the end of the demo, everyone will get a taste of the pasta paired with Nonna's delicious Spicy 'n Sweet Sauces - and get to take a jar home!

About Your Teacher
Nonna Carolina · Chef, Spicy 'n Sweet

Nonna Carolina was born & raised in Reggio Calabria, Italy, where the family meals included fresh-caught fish from just down the road, farm-raised vegetables and meats. Fresh herbs & pressed olive oil made from the hands of her own Nonna were always on the table—"I used to spend hours on my grandparent's farm learning about my native Calabria". From the very beginning, Nonna Carolina began experimenting & creating her own recipes, but the authenticity of Calabrese cooking has always remained a strong influence and inspiration in all her dishes. Even after having cooked professionally in NYC, she still believes & continues the age old tradition of cooking casalinga-style, "the only way I cook!".

Spicy 'n Sweet is a small artisanal food company based in New York City, making delicious, inspired foods from around the world, locally. Following in the artisan tradition, they handcraft and hand-jar Nonna's Spicy 'n Sweet Sauces in small batches, using only the freshest ingredients available from New York/New Jersey farms.
