Firearms Training Course / Home Safety Course

This Class is taught with REAL GUNS and REAL LIVE FIRE.
This course is designed to teach you the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms. There are no prerequisites for taking this course and the material can be understood by mature people of all ages.

What will you learn in an NRA Basic Firearms Course?
Using the NRA training method of Total Participant Involvement, basic courses provide hands on learning opportunities in the following areas: 

• Firearm Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Safe gun storage and transportation
• Where you can and cannot carry your firearm
• Application and the Appeal Process (if needed) to get your FID or Class A or B license and more. 
• Safe firearm handling
• Firearm parts and operation
• Ammunition and its function
• Shooting fundamentals and an opportunity to develop them on the range
• How to select, clean and store a firearm
• Review of various activities available to help participants develop and improve their shooting skills
• Shooting a firearm at the range 

Class Size
Generally, group size is limited to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 20 individuals. This is especially helpful for first-time shooters with no familiarity with firearms. Women new to shooting find this format especially favorable.

This 4 hour course offers a solid base upon which a student can safely build shooting skills and includes live fire range time. All course materials include book, targets, firearms and ammo, eye and ear protection will be provided. All that you need to provide is your lunch.

At the successful completion of this course you will receive an NRA and Mass. State Police certificate. These certificates are part of your requirement to file your application with your local police department for your Class A License to carry, Class B or FID card
